Rye is a peculiar kid full of life. Always getting in trouble around the Mojave Desert and make the crazy due to his bad choices.
They have ZERO sense of self-Preservation, always trying to look cool and capable of handling situation by herself without help. Mainly because he basically had to do it since he was a little child.
Unfortunately Rye was born from a non-consensual act between an NCR soldier (Frank's twin sister) and a legionnaire.
Sometimes Rye has emotional outbursts, especially when things go wrong or is obligated to face their feelings or trauma-related things, really can't regulate emotions and still needs help with it.
Has a weird and a bit random sense of humor. Likes to taunt Arcade (which unfortunately is like a parent figure to them) and sometimes Boone by stealing his beret.

She's 15-16 years old and an Ex-Legionnaire
She was an ex-recuit born in The Legion. After her expedition group got killed, she took advantage of the situation in order to escape from it.
Em is a very insecure Trans Girl who barely accepted herself and who's trying to survive in the Mojave Desert alone.
She can be a bit harsh and salty with her replies, especially with strangers. Em unfortunately still slips into Caesar's Legion takes, mostly in a self-destructive way. Is trying to improve and be better.
Behind this facade, there's a quiet girl who really cares about her loved ones, with deep perseverance and strong will despite her struggles.
Em is Rye's younger half sister (from her father's side) and the eldest for other two girls (named Lavinia and Julia) who are still in the Legion territory. They are the reason why she regrets her escape.
Em is deeply scared of other legionnaires, especially visibly stronger ones. She doesn't want to get hurt again for being 'too weak' or simply herself.
Has a difficult relationship with Boone, they fight a lot due to her past but she sees him as a role model to follow. The only reason why she wasn't killed already is due to Rye's mercy

He's 37 years old and an NCR Veteran
He is an NCR soldier who mostly does paperwork at Camp McCarran due to the loss of his left leg, happened at the Battle of Hoover Dam.
Frank is a caring soldier who tries to do the best he can in order to help people around him, mostly his loved ones.
He is very expansive and extrovert, appearing at first glance non serious to the eyes of others, honestly he's a bit of a goof and absent-minded.
Frank also appears as confident and very bold, but can be reduced in a nervous wreck in an instant around certain people (especially around a certain handsome medic, if you know what I mean).
Despite that, he is a capable fighter, knows when is time to be serious and to throw hands against injustices. Frank doesn't really like some of the NCR political moves, especially their opposition towards The Followers of The Apocalypse. The soldier really admires their job and mission, considering them the "best people out there."
Frank is Rye's uncle from their mother's side (he's her twin brother) and was their main guardian for a while until he had to go to the Mojave.
He deeply regrets for not being around the next years, wishing that he could take full custody since his sister couldn't psychologically take care of Rye due to her trauma) and now he tries to make up for his errors.
Frank is romantically involved with Arcade (to Rye's disappointment) and their relationship is solid and affecionate.
