she grins. “no rest for the wicked, huh?”

jessica shrugs. “that’s just the life of a superhero. saving the day, no matter what. always new things to punch, new people to save.”

“it’s a perk of the job.” jessica smiles, because he’s right. violence for the sake of violence, or for hateful ends? she’d never, ever agree with it. but jessica revels in the physicality of being a hero. the feeling of destroying an enemy, one set out to destroy innocent peoples’ lives… nothing else could possibly live up to it. “more often than not, unfortunately.”

“you ever wonder what it’d like to have a brain like that? capable of solving that sort of problem?” jessica asks the man. the powers are one thing: it’s easy enough to shut down and punch the living hell out of some bad guys and aliens. “i feel like it’d drive me off the deep end.”

“i’m sure your mr reed is already working on it.” jessica replies, lips twitching in what could be a smile but isn’t. “just like my people are. but thanks.”

        Another hum-chuckle , but at least Cindy can muster up a small smile. It’s an exhausted sigh that escapes her lips afterwards , glassy eyes staring forward to showcase she’s got a lot on her mind. Freedom … is hard. And a missing family , that’s even harder. ❝ We can talk about cars. ❞ She looks back at Johnny with a nod. ❝ Give me , um , give me a fun car fact. Please. ❞
