✶ ░ S I L K

                 Cindy takes a breath. ❝ Just because it’s from MONTY PYTHON doesn’t mean it’s always true. ❞ The phrase comes out extremely awkward - she’s still trying to get the hang of Spider-Man’s wisecracks and quips. Not working out the best as of right now , but she’s getting there. Crossed arms as she tries to examine again for any wounds , she looks up at Felicia. ❝ Yeah , I got that reference. ❞ Another awkward addition. ❝ . . . Where’s the damage ?? How do I help ?? ❞

           ❝ You say that like I normally don’t like new things . . . ❞ Cindy remarks , resting her head on her knees as she looks away from Johnny and stares to the side. Maybe because she knows there’s slight truth to that statement ; she’s still adjusting to CHANGE. Still adjusting to FREEDOM. Change and her take a while to mix. ❝ But I’ll try it. You . . . You could be right. It sort of sounds fun. It’s NEW , and . . . I need to get out more. I’ve got a few years I need to catch up on in terms of outdoorsy time. ❞

           She shakes her head. ❝ No , actually - never really thought normal cars could go that fast. ❞ But she’s never been someone who’s known a LOT about automobiles , anyway. A small smile. ❝ . . . I think I’d like a ride , sometime. It sounds horrifying , but - but a good kind of horrifying , I think. ❞

            All energy and readiness to face off against the thief fades when Silk notices the other woman’s . . . stressed , defeated demeanor. And she furrows her brow with a squint , trying to pick out any wounds or injuries - careful to calmly approach her. ❝ . . . What . . . happened ?? Are you okay ?? ❞ She softly asks , voice lacking any fire but replacing it with a cool , concerned tone.

          ❝ Yeah - that’s why I’m - that’s why I’m . . . here. ❞ A small sigh , Cindy lowering her camera and journal. It’s all in an effort to impress Jameson ; being an intern is DEFINITELY something Cindy wants to move fast on , so maybe she can get a better position in the Bugle. And she wasn’t asked to come here - she just did. And she got here before anyone else from it - thank god for webslinging. ❝ I’m just - I’m just a REPORTER. I’ll back up , sorry. ❞

        Another hum-chuckle , but at least Cindy can muster up a small smile. It’s an exhausted sigh that escapes her lips afterwards , glassy eyes staring forward to showcase she’s got a lot on her mind. Freedom . . . is hard. And a missing family , that’s even harder. ❝ We can talk about cars. ❞ She looks back at Johnny with a nod. ❝ Give me , um , give me a fun car fact. Please. ❞

               The comment involving his means of payment makes Cindy let out a small ‘ hm ’ as a quiet chuckle or so. But the type in which you don’t smile or actually laugh. The one where you sit there , stagnant , but acknowledge the joke is good. ❝ I don’t . . . I don’t know if I really want to. ❞ She’ll start complaining again ; complaints she’s sick of repeating and complaints others are sick of hearing. But she looks at Johnny , asking ,  ❝ Why don’t we just , just talk about you , okay ?? Your favorite topic. What’s up ?? ❞    

               ❝ So , uh , this is kind of a longshot , but suggestion. ❞ Silk looks up at the round of goons she accidentally successfully trapped in globs of webbing , waiting for the police to arrive as she looks at Hawkeye in front of her. ❝ So . . . webbing arrows ?? I know it’s - it’s kind of our thing with the whole . . . ❞ Spider-men ?? Spider-people ?? Spider Inc. ?? She’s not really sure what they qualify as.  ❝ . . . WEBS thing but. Not saying any of us trademarked it. I could , kinda help - maybe. I shoot this stuff all from my fingertips - my suit’s even made of it. Kinda gets weird when it hits water and is at risk of falling apart but - wait. You didn’t need - to know that. Uh , yeah !! So webbing arrows. Fun concept ?? ❞

             Deep breath is taken under the red , silken cloth as Cindy sits upon a ledge , looking out at the cityscape in front of her. She’s tired and hot and her head is buzzing in a million ways she knows aren’t anything to worry about , but the migraines that are coming to her don’t exactly mix well. Behind her , she doesn’t have to look to know it’s him. Hand runs through her hair as she removes the cloth ,  ❝ I was really hoping you could bring marshmallows or something - it’s been a long day and I’m really in the moon for s’mores. ❞ Even though it’s a nice little quip , Cindy’s tone is defeated - exhausted and lacking a fire , but that’s okay. Johnny’s got enough fire for the both of them.
