like it would probably be miserable for my friend if he had to deal with watching me and him date and move on and like. I wouldn't want to do that to him

plus he's such an important friend to me. what if I have been reading this wrong. what if he doesn't like me?

or I suppose, even worse,,, what if he does?

what if he likes me. What if he adores me and I like him and we're happy together?

Nothing perfect like that ever lasts for me. I don't want to risk losing him.

What if when I get to see him in two weeks, I only fall for him harder?

Will I have to spend the rest of my life dreaming of a man whose hand I only ever got to hold once?

I think that might be more torturous than never getting to see him in the first place. Because then I have something tangible to connect all my memories too.

I won't just be imagining what a hug from him might feel like. I'd imagine the way his arms feel around me. I'd know how he smells. I'll know what it feels like to be held by a man who loves me.
