Basically, it is a true pacifist timeline.
Frisk, instead of giving their SOUL to save the monsters, managed to make a compromise with Asgore to give up their ability to RESET and SAVE instead. Whilst they made it on the surface, some humans were still very against monsters.
One night a human attacked Sans and Papyrus. Sans got the most hurt, getting three strikes to the chest.
Frisk, no longer having the ability to save or reset the timeline, had to make a quick yet hard and painful decision. They chose to tear a part of their SOUL to fuse it with Sans' soul while he was dusting.
That kept him alive, but in constant pain in the places he is dusting. Most commonly his head. When he uses his magic a lot and all, the smoke of the dust starts seeping through some cracks he has on his body, and it hurts more.
The soul fusion is also the reason the smoke is that way, and he has hues of red-to-blue. Red symbolizing the DETERMINATION he has due to Frisk giving him a part of their soul, and the blue because of his characteristic blue attack, so the colors also mix into purple.
He got used to the pain, tho. Mostly.
Plus my bf is kinda colorblind so he can see my OC..
Also due to the attack his jacket got torn in half, so he has one part tied to his waist while the other part hangs around his shoulders and is being held by a pendant from the royal guard
