Live in the magic

“Fire is a burning flame that keeps you warm on a cold winters night”. This is what mum used to say, when I would begin to fall asleep and was afraid that the fire would creep out of its place and set ablaze to our house. I was very scared back then when I was 10 years old. I catastrophised every thought that entered and eventually left my head. I always thought the worst unimaginable happenings; even in the best of times. The negatives overtook the positives in the fast race of the things we call our feelings and emotions.

Today is different. Today is my birthday.

Turning 18 has changed me.

I feel brand new. I feel like I have been set alight ready for a new day to dawn. And that day has finally come. I felt lighter when I awoke this morning. Brighter inside; and almost cheerful. I felt a spark creep through my body, it was slowly burning inside me and was ready to explode. I felt excited for a new beginning. A new chance at what I wanted to do. A new page to start writing my next astonishing chapter on.

This feeling has not left me since I turned 18 years old. Every day it spits out flames like a Furness ready to incinerate a log of wood. It takes what I give it, and it gives back what I ask in the most unexpected way. I have come to realise that this sense of overwhelming drive is what we call passion. And it has come from within me. It has: determination like fire to spread from person to person and give us a wholesome feeling in assertiveness however, when put out it can leave us feeling angry, sad and depressed.

The fire inside you, is not something to be afraid or scared of; it is something you should be proud of because it’s what makes you you. It is the spring inside you that throws you out of bed in the morning. It is a positive feeling in the stream of negatives that we get every day. And it should be cherished like your best friend and calmed gently when it becomes overwhelmed, it should never be extinguished for good.

Passion is here. Even when you can’t see or feel it. It lives within us always - if you know where to look.

It's nearly 10 o'clock, time is ticking away, like the drum beat of my heart. Time will NEVER stop and neither will I it seems... Patience is hard, but learning to be content is well... even more difficult! Let's say it's a strength.

How does one learn this source of power, when they are stuck in the overwhelming excitement and idleness of the fast paced moving thing we call life? 

We Begin by breathing... at a slower pace, moving... to the beat of our own heart instead of everyone else, Thinking... of what knowledge is inside us before we open our mouths to speak.

Using Negatives to teach us how we can build a future of positivity, and avoid knocking it down with the Cynical “Bad” thoughts. Most of all we must learn to trust who we are to become our dreams. To make, instead of break; and to open instead of close when an opportunity arrives at our doorstep.
