I started a fan account for TGMD on tik tok (same name except there’s no “-“) and I’ve been posting Great Mouse Detective edits on there and I’m getting WAY more views than I thought I would 💀

I wholeheartedly believe that Ratigan and Basil are exes.

But the funny thing is, with all the queercoding Disney did during that time frame, I have no idea if it was intentional subtext or not. Like, the directors themselves could tell me “oh yeah it was totes intentional, those rats are fags” and I wouldn’t even blink.

I could write a whole post about queercoding in Disney movies during that time period (and I might) but first now, I’ll just leave it at this:

Renaissance Disney villains were so fucking queercoded that I’d have absolutely NO trouble believing that this particular villain was 100% on purpose.
