Guys. That is ABSOLUTELY false. To be an ally is to understand the difference between advocating and baiting. Anyone trying to twist this positivity into something it isn’t needs to calm down. It costs zero dollars to not step on our gowns. 💗✌️

Ally should not be used a noun, but as a verb.  You ally yourself with people…without action it’s meaningless.  Taylor herself is taking action, publicly supporting equality legislation, giving money…that’s allyship.  Remember, people, you can’t just call yourself an ally…you have to get out there and do something.

And remember, you do not have to have a T. Swift income to take action!  You can vote...in fact, it’s vital that you reject anti-LGTBQ politicians.  You can form a GSA at your school.  You can take your college Safe Space course.  You can march, demonstrate, and question authority.  Or you can simply provide a sympathetic listening ear to an LGBTQ peer...be a safe person for them to come out to and to confide in.  To younger LGBTQ people in particular having that one friend who truly understands them can mean the world.  (Just remember that it is not your job to out anyone...let them determine who they come out to, as well as how and when they do it.)
