Good morning. This is Arashi’s Ohno Satoshi. Here’s today’s thought of the day; come on! “(A good year is) a year of good health, good humour and good work, a year in which you will have pleasure in living every day, without waiting for the days to be gone before finding charm in them, and without putting all hope of pleasure in the days to come.”[1] [BGM ‘Akatsuki’] This is a quote by the double Nobel-Prize-winning female scientist known in Japan as Madame Curie, Marie Curie. Madame Curie left her homeland Poland for Paris, France, studied and got married there, discovered radium and polonium with her husband and was awarded a Nobel Prize for it. Ohh. Speaking of discoveries, at the end of last year, it was announced that Japan’s Riken Institute had discovered a new chemical element with atomic number 113. Its name? Japonium! …Or at least, it could be. Doesn’t it sound similar? Speaking of Japonium, Arashi has… Japonism! Last year, we did those concerts and this year, believe it or not, for the first time in 9 years, we’ll be starting an arena tour from this April onwards! (whistles and applause) Right? The title of that will be “ARASHI ‘Japonism Show’ in ARENA”. So that’s the title we’ll be using. From April all the way 'til August. Starting with the SunDome Fukui and ending with the Yokohama Arena. Man, I’ve got quite a few memories from arena tours. From the start, our first concert after our debut… That was the Yokohama Arena.[2] We’re really indebted to the Yokohama Arena. Man, I remember it well. Naturally, it was from the time when we were Johnny’s Juniors. I remember it well. Like the structure, the feel of the backstage… Like, before our debut, there was a different dressing room we used as Juniors. Then after we debuted, the dressing room… well, it was Arashi’s dressing room, right? Like, we had a sofa and all, I remember. Mm. And like, Aiba-chan, he tried out the bathtub, soaking in it to warm up his body. Then when he came out, he was soaked in sweat. (laughs) “Aiba-chan? We haven’t even started yet…” “I can’t stop sweating!” he’d say. “Um…Are you okay?” It was like, we’re gonna sweat plenty after this and you’re already sweaty?? And then Nino’s mom sent delicious dried plums to our dressing room. Man, we ate that every single time. I’m not superstitious, but we had it so often that I’d feel a little uneasy if I didn’t eat some before a concert! It’s pretty nostalgic. So like, that’s what it’s always like during concerts. Kinda like, well, it’s called 'Japonism Show’, so I think it really has that 'show’ factor. So on that note, the show’s very 'Japonism’ and there’s a lot about to unfold. We’d like the people who’re coming to watch to look forward to that. For us, we’ll be having our meetings from now on and I think we’ll be making progress with that. Yeah. From April until August! I’ll do my best!
