been thinking ever since i watched jay's gameplay, i wonder if hugo is actually kind-hearted and had the "fire" take over eventually like jimmy, or if he was always evil either way.. i mean rose and him got along for some time, so was it a lie or did he genuinely love her but just have his evil persona take over... baggycat pls explain this in the 2nd game + what do yall think 😭

i think it’s sort of like jimmy, where he can’t often control if hugo punch possesses him. jimmy on his own seems to be well mannered and polite (although a tad bit awkward) and isn’t particularly evil at all. hugo punch is villainous and is probably a manifestation of the spirit. hugo hall might have been the same, he was usually fine but he would get angry and violent when the spirit was in charge. (i wouldn’t be surprised if hugo had a history of murders either, since whatever this spirit is, it seems to be incredibly violent) so i think his abuse - post jimmys birth - was only somewhat intentional and was mostly the spirit, the spirit probably wanted to jump to jimmys mind instead of being stuck with hugo. i do think some of it was conscious decision though. like jimmy, he probably doesn’t take a lot of responsibility for his actions, and some of the abuse to rose (pre jimmys birth) was intentional. wether the spirit was helping him be abuse and aggressive is up to debate but i do think that - at least pre jimmys birth - his actions were a mix of conscious decisions and the spirit.

Literally I’ve made about maybe three non-close friends online and my first conversation with them involved adon, and I sat my cousin down and made her watch an adon lore video during our grandpa’s funeral reunion thing; I need to shut the fuck up.
