ive always imagined something like this happening with edd and eddy while they're young and eddy is still pretty uncomfortable in his identity. edd is understanding (down bad) for a while but eventually after multiple of these instances, he attempts to move on. but of course eddy comes around eventually and they live happily ever after forever and ever and only get divorced like five times the end 😁
