Cas is fighting a civil war in Heaven against RAPHAEL. Raphael, who is an archangel, Raphael who is trying to restart the apocalypse. He is single-handedly trying to stop this war.

And time and time again when he only asks that Dean* the Winchesters understand what he’s trying to do, why he’s so busy, Dean they constantly give him shit for it.

And it’s such bullshit, because Cas is trying to prevent exactly what they spent weeks, months, years trying to circumvent!! They lost Ellen and Jo trying to stop the apocalypse/Lucifer! They lost Sam, last time! Sam had to damn himself to an eternity of torture to stop Lucifer (and Michael) last time!

They are literally pushing against Cas’ plans to fucking stop the apocalypse from happening again, what the actual fuck.

And Cas only asks that they understand. He only asks for them to respect that he can’t help them like he usually would. And??? That’s apparently too much???

So yeah, I completely fucking understand why Cas starts lying to them about working with Crowley (which isn’t really something to fault him for, since oh yeah, how many times have Dean and Sam and Bobby done the same?? “Cas got manipulated by Crowley wow what a bastard” ffs), and lying to them about his plans.

And also, I understand why he killed Professor Whatshername and broke Sam’s wall. I don’t condone the actions, but considering that Dean the Winchesters keep demonizing him for everything he’s doing, I’m not really shocked that he didn’t know where to draw the line. Angels already have a skewed sense of morality, and having literally no support from Dean the Winchesters, and being egged on by Crowley, none of it is freaking surprising.

Dean They put this on himself themselves. If he they had just listened or had a conversation, none of this would have even happened, none of it would have gotten so bad in the first place where Godstiel and the Leviathans were even a possibility.

I’m still bitter about how stupid Dean* the Winchesters were in s6.

Even as late as 6.15 Sam and Dean had no fucking clue  what Cas was up to.

SAM Cas, what the hell? Wait, wait, you were in on this, using us a diversion? CASTIEL It was Balthazar’s plan. I would have done the same thing. DEAN That’s not comforting, Cas. CASTIEL When will I be able to make you understand? If I lose against Raphael, we all lose. Everything. DEAN Yeah, Cas. We know the stakes. That’s about all you’ve told us! CASTIEL I’m sorry about all this. I’ll explain when I can.

The he poofed out without any explanation whatsoever.

Cas NEVER ONCE asked for their help. He only asked them to stand down. And of course they wouldn’t stand down, they wanted to HELP CAS, THEIR FRIEND. Who told them nothing. By the time Dean discovered that Sam (who was soulless at the time still) was indirectly working for Crowley via Samuel, it was too late for Cas to get out of the Dean he’d been working with Crowley anyway and he likely DID feel guilty that Sam and Dean had been inadvertently recruited to the project. Their involvement, however, was tangential enough to largely keep them safe and out of trouble (hunting alphas at least was something they COULD do, as opposed to battling archangels…)

They were still safe enough, until Crowley tried to FORCE them to back down, first by directly attacking the Winchesters and then going after Lisa and Ben to distract them, and Cas wouldn’t stand for that… and that’s when things began falling apart for all of them.

So yeah, Cas could’ve been more open and honest from the get go. He could’ve told Dean about Raphael’s threat and that he’d planned to deal with Crowley in a desperate bid to gain enough power to defeat Raphael once and for all…

Granted, Dean probably would’ve reacted the same way, but instead of Cas literally not saying a single word about ANY of this to the Winchesters all season long, and therefore only finding out about the full extent of Cas’s plans in 6.20… yeah. 

Though I do agree that Cas’s crazy plan was probably the only means they had to take Raphael down, dammit if Cas hadn’t spent the entire season trying to go it alone maybe they could’ve come up with a better plan. By the time Dean hears about it, it’s pretty much too late to start drafting a plan B, and all they’re both left with is hurt and betrayal and heartbreak.

Saying it wasn’t entirely Cas’s fault is perfectly reasonable. Deciding that it was therefore entirely Dean’s fault really isn’t.

Like, every single episode in season 6 after they found out I was like ‘ok, they are gonna get in it now, how the hell are they going to stop this new archangel when all they could do was trap lucifer omg omg this is gonna be great’ but it never happened? We just got episodes and episodes of the Campbells bullshitting around (thank god for soulless Sam, I don’t know how I could have gotten through most of season 6 without him). I was like ‘who are these guys and what have they done with Sam and Dean’? And then when they find out about Castiel’s plan and don’t like it- they don’t have any other options except ‘not that one’. 

I remember seeing Dean walking into Crowley’s lair at the end expecting Cas to be there, but instead it’s Raphael. He’s like surprised for a second. And I was like ‘were you LISTENING to Cas? Even if you stopped him, you never would have stopped Raphael, he was ready to step right in and destroy the world, exactly like Cas said he would’. And I hoped in that second that Dean would pull out a plan and it would be this wonderful Batman-esque mastermind thing, where Dean had an ace up his sleeve all along and was ready to bust ass. Like Cas should have just listened to Dean because he secretly had it handled. But then Dean just goes ‘welp’ and starts to sneak up on Raphael with a plain angel blade- like he could actually just sneak up on an archangel and stab him no problem! That was it! That was his alternative to purgatory-‘sneak up on him and stab him’.

It was such a massive letdown. Dean had no plan for Raphael. I literally said to my TV ‘oh no, Dean’s read the script’. He was acting like he knew he was a main character so he would be fine. Like he’d read the script and knew what would happen so it didn’t matter. It took me right out of the scene.

Cas hadn’t spoken to either of them in like a year. He had no obligation to tell them anything about his plans. It was his decision to make. He was the leader of the civil war. And he decided they couldn’t do anything and he was right because they did literally nothing except try to stop his world saving plans.

I just saw a post by someone who talked about Meg’s devotion to Cas in such beautiful terms I was hovering over that like button until…. they said “I don’t personally believe he reciprocated her feelings.” With all due respect, THAT IS NOT UP FOR DEBATE. I feel like there is so much meta and discourse about non-canon ships that some people forget canon ships are not subject to your opinion about whether or not they’re real.

Megstiel is canon. It just IS. Ask Rachel. Ask Misha. Ask the writers. Or just, you know, WATCH THE SHOW. Some of the non-canon ships do get subtext moments that tease at relationships that aren’t in the text, sometimes intentionally put there for fans, and that’s cool. There’s nothing wrong with those ships or the people who like them. But the difference is, those moments are the writers ALLOWING us to ship Sam and Dean, or Dean and Cas, or Sam and Gabriel, or whoever. It’s a wink that gives permission, not a blatant intent. We’re SUPPOSED to see romance between Cas and Meg. It’s not “implied.” It’s just THERE.

Cas and Meg have sexual tension from the moment they meet - not in subtext, but in the TEXT. (And if you’re about to argue that “Dean literally saw sparks fly when he met Cas, and nothing like that happened with Cas and Meg,” you clearly have never heard Johnny Cash sing Ring of Fire.) Throughout their interactions in seasons 5 and 6, Meg openly flirted with Cas at every opportunity and blatantly indicated attraction. Meanwhile, Cas was observably flustered whenever he was around her. They kissed. Contrary to popular belief, Cas DID indicate that he was interested in having sex with Meg. Watch the scene again - he was not misunderstanding the suggestion. He was guiltily deflecting it.

In season 7, he becomes insane, she becomes his caretaker, and he developed a canonically established crush on her. Again, this was not something that could maybe sort of be hinted at by subtle details if you squint. This was confirmed by the writers, by the actors, and by the actual dialogue of the show. Crazy!Cas had a crush on Meg. Period. During that time, SHE seemed to brush off HIS advances, possibly because she knew he was not of sound mind, but her actions in caring for him demonstrate a degree of emotional investment even though Meg probably wouldn’t admit it.

The final episode they share begins with a recap of EVERY ROMANTIC MOMENT THEY SHARED, from staring at each other and mutual heavy breathing in the infamous Ring of Fire to kissing in Crowley’s dungeon to multiple instances of her using her pet name for him. We don’t get flashbacks like this when there’s going to be a subtext moment. The “THEN” for Goodbye Stranger was pretty much a neon sign saying HEY LOOK REMEMBER ALL THE TIMES ROMANTIC/SEXUAL STUFF HAPPENED BETWEEN CAS AND MEG? BECAUSE THIS EPISODE IS DEFINITELY GOING TO BE ABOUT THAT. And then it proceeded to show him tenderly caring for her, admitting he had feelings for her, reminiscing fondly about kissing her, and ultimately agreeing - with a certain degree of that long-standing flusteredness - that yes, they really should finally have sex once they survive this battle.

Even the one time Meg is undeniably mentioned in canon after her death, it’s because Cas-in-human-disguise has named himself using her pet name for him. And even this is set up in flashbacks with Meg making flirty eyes at Cas while calling him Clarence. WE ARE SUPPOSED TO SEE THIS.

Look, I’m not saying my ship is better than yours just because it’s canon. We Megstiel shippers do the same things shippers of non-canon ships do sometimes - we create elaborate theories based on background details to support headcanons that Meg and Cas totally did consummate their relationship offscreen before she died, or that he’s still in love with her and makes decisions to this day that are based on that love, or that Meg somehow survived and they will find each other again, or secretly already have. There’s no canon support for most of this. It’s all in the realm of fanfiction. But we do it because it comforts us, and in that way we are just like non-canon shippers.

But none of that changes the fact that Megstiel is canon. You don’t get to say you don’t believe Cas loved Meg back, because Cas himself told you he did. You can NOT LIKE a canon ship. Some people didn’t like Dean with Lisa. A lot of people didn’t like Sam with Amelia. You can dislike a canon pairing, either because it got in the way of something you wanted, or you just weren’t a fan of one of the characters, or you didn’t think they were good for each other, or any number of things. But NOT LIKING IT DOESN’T MEAN IT DIDN’T HAPPEN.

JUST THINK WITH ME A MOMENT HERE

cas has had a ton of trouble adjusting to everything

here he’s been this angel watching over earth for forever, and suddenly he has to take care of these humans, and he falls, and he looses faith in his father, does what he thinks is right but ultimately leads to his downfall, was brought back only to be controlled by someone and do things he doesn’t want to do and he’s so, so unhappy. to the point he wants to die.

but then then wow okay there’s this girl and yeah she’s a demon and wow that’s not okay he’s an angel and that’s not how it’s suppose to go but he can’t honestly help liking her

she’s all badass and head strong and fights for what she wants but she also has these moments where she’s just sweet and kind and she watched over him when he needed someone and she was just there and she cared

confessing to her isn’t something cas could just do spur of the moment, he must have thought about this for a while because she’s a demon and angels and demons are suppose to be enemies, and liking her is suppose to be completely and utterly out of the question but he’s going to confess anyways.

after he’s had to endure all of this crap, he finds this one thing. this one girl. this one demon. that makes him happy.

A woman filed a  lawsuit claiming that when she was thirteen years old she was held as a sex slave to Mr. Trump and his friend Jeffrey Epstein. The woman claimed to have a witness, “Tiffany Doe,” to the incidents. Mr. Epstein is a notorious  “billionaire pedophile” who is now a Level 3 registered sex offender - the most dangerous kind, “a threat to public safety” — after being convicted of misconduct with another underage girl.

Mr. Trump has a long history of debasing women he’s worked with, crossing the line on a regular basis. He’s taken lifelong joy in objectifying women, including his proclamation: “Women, you have to treat ‘em like shit.”

He’s also  been accused of worse than just misogynist language. Two prior women have accused Mr. Trump, in court documents, of actual or attempted sexual assault. (Mr. Trump denies all the allegations.) In fact, Under oath, Ivana Trump accused Mr. Trump of a violent rape. First was Ivana Trump, Donald Trump’s first wife, who said under oath in a 1989 deposition that he had violently attacked her, ripped out her hair and forcibly penetrated her without her consent.
