Hello all! Welcome to my little corner of the Internet. My name is Ms.K and I'm about to embark on a journey into the wonderful, chaotic, and slightly terrifying world of Special Education. So my first year has come and gone, but the chaos of living the life of a novice teacher still remains. I am now starting the new journey as a Resource Room and Co-Teacher. Hopefully one day in the distant future this blog will help someone prepare for their first year (or just provide some laughs for the more seasoned folks out there).

And somehow it’s my fault that your child tends to forget things/isn’t responsible/is constantly tardy since I’m with them so much of the day?!? HOW ARE YOU LATE TO THE MEETING YOU CALLED?!?!?

I WISH they were just late. I'm talking a no show for three appointments in a row!! I had to get coverage for someone to cover my class all three times to meet with them because they can only meet at a certain time during the day. No apparently I'm unprofessional because I refuse to meet during class hours now. You can't make this stuff up!

Got a rude and threatening email from a parent...

after they asked for an update on their student's progress. Sorry I offered your child extra credit to boost their failing grade. I'm a horrible bitch for "giving her extra work she can't handle" - I know. Please ignore the ridiculously long extensions I've given her for simple assignments and all the times she never came for extra help. God should strike me down. Yes sir I'll get right to quitting my job after I change all those 0's to 100's. Look forward to seeing you at the meeting too.
