"The best? Hm. I wonder what else you’re the best at, hm?" He laughed brightly, and crossed the large tub to go to the window, opening it, his bare (and now wet) butt shone in the light as he got on his tippy toes to make sure it was open enough. Winking at the mermaid in the painting, he snapped his fingers to put a covering over it. She had a habit of interrupting, and he did not want to be interrupted when he was with this beautiful boy. Turning around, he added some more bubbles because he could. "This was definitely needed though — brilliant idea. A good smoke and a good soak." He winked, a bright smile on his lips, feeling happier than he had in a while.

"Oh, you know, lots of things. Telling bad jokes, making people angry... I have a wide variety of talents." James chuckled under his breath, flicking the lighter to make sure it had enough fluid to function properly. As soon as he looked up, he was greeted with the sight of–– well, shit. The guy looked like a greek god. The nudity had to a french thing. He chalked it up to purebloods being a weird bunch, ignoring how fast his heart was beating. "It was a good idea. Guess we make a good team, Greengrass." James paused for a second before waving the other boy over. "You want the first hit?"

Daniel noticed the slight pink on his face and chuckled softly. “It’s okay, the bubbles hide everything.” He looked over at the bowl, and grinned. “You certainly do know what you’re doing.” He put his chin on James’s leg — fuck everything at this point really — and inhaled the smell of the unlit weed. “Good stuff too. I knew I wanted to keep you around, Potter.” And with that, he turned away, dipping his head under, running his hands through his wet hair. “I’ll never get tired of this room, honestly.”

Shit, he had noticed... the last thing James wanted to do was make things weird with someone that could become an actual friend. He just needed to rela–– oh, shit, Daniel's chin was on his knee and he was looking up at him through those long eyelashes and–– James's face didn't change, but his mind went into overdrive and the room suddenly seemed much smaller.

"Never been to a church." He shrugged, and worked his magic at the tub, he found his favorite bubble bath and added just the right amount of scent to it that it would add the right… Atmosphere. Especially with the weed. Did he want to get in his pants? Well, yes. Did he want to get into his heart and mind though? …Probably. Which meant he had to be careful — for some reason, he realized James Potter couldn’t be a shag and run. He would be in it for the long run. "Alright. All good." He stripped entirely and stood there for a second too long before sliding into the beautiful tub.

James laughed loudly, the sound filling the small room. "I'm not surprised. You don't quite seem the godly type." Kicking off his shoes and shrugging off his robes, he set the supplies near the edge of the tub and took off his undershirt, only then turning to see the other boy completely naked. He froze, breath catching in his throat and eyes going wide, not averting his eyes until Daniel was in the tub. His cheeks turned slightly pink, but he simply continued to strip down to his boxers –– going in naked was probably just a french thing or something. Sitting on the edge of the large tub with just his feet in,, he began to pack the bowl, concentrating intently on making sure that it was perfect.

He held his hands out, reluctantly taking his hand away from the other — bemoaning the lack of touch. “Welcome to the Prefect’s bathroom.” With a quick flick of his wand, he locked the door, a smirk falling over his face. “We could even take a bath — it’s quite nice, the tub’s bloody well huge.” He glanced over to it, pretending to not be infinitely interested in a taking a bath with the other.

It was nicer than he had thought it would be, the bathtub in the center of the room looking more like a pool. Stained glass windows made the light shine through in shades of red, orange, and blue–– it was beautiful. "This place looks like a church," he murmured to himself in awe, a small smile on his face. 

"Hermione Granger." He whispered the words — knowing of someone his parents detested, and he had always been curious in. She was just so smart. “Just like Voldemort… God. That’s horrible.” He couldn’t stomach it — slaughtering so many people? But you’ve killed people, the little voice reminded him. You’ve slaughtered a great many of people. Three just last night. Goddamnit. This was all too much. He really needed a smoke. And a shag. Perhaps James could give him both.

"Perfect." James nearly sighed in relief, glad the conversation was over and the smile was back on the boy's face. The hand on his wrist surprised him, but he followed along anyways, ignoring how it almost burned. "Oh, please do," he said, dissolving into laughter as they walked inside. "I'd die to see the look on some snotty prefect's face."

"I feel like you're joking, but that's a good idea. There's gotta be a sharpie around here somewhere..."

"Shit." Daniel cursed, shaking his head. "Didn’t know you and Grey were that close. He might’ve just… Gone off on a bender or something." He pulled out a pack, offering the boy one, unsure of what else to do.

"We've been teammates for years, rooming together for longer. He's–– that's what I thought too, at first, but he wouldn't without me, and certainly not for this long. Noah's not like that. He's–– dependable, I guess." James took the cigarette, face still stony but voice a little softer.

"Hey, d’you wanna go smoke something a little more… potent? I think we both could use it."

"Well, I'm no expert, but Aunt Hermione thinks so, and she's a lot smarter than I am. Oh, why did Hitler? In all likelihood, he didn't. He needed something to unify the Germans and get them entirely under his control, so he picked a scapegoat for their economic situation–– a minority that people already disliked–– and slaughtered them in the cheapest and quickest way possible. Also, he was batshit fucking insane." James shrugged, unsure of how else to explain it. "People do really fucked up things for power sometimes."

"Well, lucky for you, then. I'm here to get fucking smashed."

"You alright, mate?" Daniel cocked his head at the boy, frowning.

"I'm fine. My best friend is the one who's MIA." A frown marred James's usually boyish features, and his usually stable hands were shaking–– barely, but enough to frustrate him further.

"He was a muggle… And he did all of that?" Daniel was shaking a little, taking another drag of his cigarette. "All of those people? He… Scientifically and methodically slaughtered…" He swallowed, hard, throwing the cigarette down with trembling fingers and stamping it out. "I wish I could say I didn’t believe you, but I do. Gas chambers… It wasn’t just a green stream of light…" He could hear screams in his ears and he turned away, feeling a tear leak down his cheek, and he quickly wiped it away — hoping James didn’t notice, hoping he was quick enough. he felt something tugging in his chest — was that… Guilt? He could hear their screams in his ears and he felt as if he was going to throw up. That was odd. That was what he was doing, though. He was killing others because… Because why? F u c k.

"Yep. They had mass incinerators to get rid of the bodies. Rounded families up and took 'em to concentration camps where the strong worked themselves to death and the weak were killed immediately. Millions of people like you and me dead, just like that." He dropped his cigarette as well, grinding it beneath his heel. Daniel seemed shaken up, and he hadn't seen the pictures yet. The thought gave James hope–– maybe he wasn't like his parents after all. "Same thing Voldemort would've done, I guess. Luckily we'll never find out." He smiled ruefully at the other boy, suddenly feeling a bit guilty for putting so much on him in such a short amount of time.

"Well. While I’m of course very concerned about Grey going missing… I’m Head Boy, at least for the moment. How… Odd."

"Yeah, congrats."

"Oh, god no.” Daniel burst out laughing, waving his cigarette in the air, shaking his head. “I think he’d faint if I did that. Too p o n c e y for him, honestly.” Nudging the others shoulder, he smiled brightly, his teeth glinting in the light. “What he doesn’t know won’t hurt him, huh?” He had no idea if James had any idea about his… Dalliances with both men and women, so he wasn’t sure if he’d get the joke or not.

"Oh, I dunno," James said, a smile twitching at his lips. "I think Professor Flitwick is very manly. Quote rough and tumble." He wasn't positive what that was supposed to mean, but he didn't really care. He absolutely definitely 500% infinitely what are you even talking about maybe YOU'RE the gay one I SAID NO HOMO GOD didn't like boys, he thought resolutely to himself. It was none of his bloody business.
