Somewhat new to Tumblr || Artist || Minor || They/she [Icon ID: drawing of Storm from Survivor Dogs surrounded by flowers in the colors of the aromantic flag and with an arrow in her teeth, smiling. /End ID]
If I add an image description (ID) to your post please copy and paste it into the original to make it more accessible for blind/low vision/other folks who may have trouble with perceiving images! Directly under the image in plain text (not small, fancy font, etc.) and/or into the alt text (both is best, but either is good). No credit needed and you can edit it however you like in case I missed or misinterpreted any details.
I will do my best to add image descriptions to my own art, as well as prioritise reblogging posts that have some kind of ID (all posts without any ID will be tagged as #undescribed).
I’m probably mainly gonna post and reblog Wings of fire, Survivors dogs, wc and other xenofiction fanart.
English is not my first language so there might be some grammar mistakes, weirdly worded stuff, etc. Feel free to correct or ask for clarifications!
Here’s some useful links (to posts/articles made by others) that I found helpful:
If you’re new to Tumblr: a comprehensive guide
What are Image descriptions (IDs)? All about IDs , another post about IDs/captions with lots of useful links and accessibility masterpost here
(Edit: oh this old. Should really make a new one but. this will have to do for now)
Lots of tags cause I love organising <3
Tagging system
I’ve seen people prefer different ID placements so here’s how I’m gonna tag, so y’all can filter them out:
#Undescribed - all posts without any ID
#ID in alt text - all posts with ID in alt text
#ID under read more - all posts with ID under read more
#Described - all posts with ID in the body of the post and not under read more (may include posts that have both ID under the image and in alt text)
#image descriptions - post about IDs, if you want to learn more about them and how to make them.
#Firnmist art- all art done by me!
#Others art - any posts and reblogs with art done by other people. Check this tag out to see some awesome art!
#Firnmist’s WoF - my posts about Wings of Fire.
#Firnmist’s SD - my posts about Survivor Dogs.
#Firn’s ocs- all posts with my ocs.
#Survivor dogs, Wings of fire, etc - any posts about this media, including mine and other people’s posts.
#SD designs - others’ Survivors designs.
#WoF designs- others’ WoF designs.
Character will be tagged like this:
#[character] [media name or it’s abbreviation]
Ex: #Storm SD, #Snowfall WoF, etc
(Unless they have a unique name or sth)
I tag stuff like blood, gore, etc as “ [thing] cw” so you can filter out those too.
I’m new to this stuff so if you have any suggestions/advice/tips/ etc don’t be afraid to tell me! Also this system may change if I decide on a better one, and I’ll edit this post if so.

There is a pervasive ideological construction that someone either deserves autonomy or support, but that these are mutually exclusive.
This artificial construction is extremely present when it comes to discourses about age and ability. People will discuss taking away choices or censoring information as "protecting" young and disabled people, and will discuss taking away material support as a necessary exchange for decision making (e.g. "if you live under my roof, you live under my rules"--a threat that asserting autonomy comes at the cost of homelessness). This dynamic is so foundational to the oppression of children that even when applied to adult groups we use words like paternalism and infantilization to communicate that a group of adults is being treated "like children."
Whenever you demand autonomy, people use this as justification to withdraw resources and care. Whenever you express your need for resources and care, people use this as justification to withdraw bodily autonomy. In reality, all people deserve bodily autonomy and care. And in reality, oppressed people are routinely denied both.
The ongoing genocide of Palestinians is perhaps the most extreme and acute expression of the oppression of young and disabled people in the world right now.
This past December, the Palestinian Center for Human Rights (a nonprofit based in Gaza) published a report titled Generation Wiped Out: Gaza’s Children in the Crosshairs of Genocide. In this report, they explain how children are specific and intentional targets in this genocide:
"The targeting of children in the Gaza Strip constitutes a central element of a systematic genocide. Since the onset of Israel’s genocidal campaign on 07 October 2023, Israeli leaders have explicitly expressed their intent to annihilate Gaza, including children... a deliberate intent to target children as part of a broader plan to erase and eradicate Palestinian identity and destroy future generations... The report examines these crimes through the lens of Israeli practices and policies since 07 October 2023, materialized by the unprecedented killing of children, causing them severe bodily harm through grave injuries and arbitrary detention. It also highlights the infliction of profound psychological harm. Furthermore, it delves into systematic policies aimed at their destruction, including the weaponizing starvation, the denial of appropriate medical treatment and adequate healthcare, and forced displacement accompanied by deprivation of food, medical care, and shelter. Additionally, it addresses the restriction of children’s right to education."
Make no mistake that this genocide is the ultimate form of the annihilation of resources, care, and autonomy for children, and by extension for all Palestinians who are subject to the most brutal and extreme forms of paternalistic, disabling racialization.
We all need to hold solidarity with the young, disabled people in Palestine. This solidarity is essential to global liberation.
My friend Ahmed Aldani is a disabled teenager living in Gaza right now.
His lifelong disability caused by exposure to gas from a phosphorus bomb before he was even born, and over the course of his life he has experienced additional disabling traumas. Two years ago Israel bombed his home, and more recently even his family's tent was damaged in another bombing.
If it wasn't hard enough to sleep while constantly waking from vivid nightmares, reptiles and poisonous insects easily get into the tent every night. His brother is injured and needs medical attention (a single tablet of his medicine costs €20 euros), and they cannot even afford enough to eat anymore. He is starving, living with constant headaches, dizzy from the lack of nutrition and calories.
Ahmed is a really wonderful person, and deserves resources, support, care, and autonomy. We can be part of a collective community of adults who can help give him some relief and control over his life. Please donate to him.

Yesterday, my mother fractured her arm while trying to get aid. I couldn’t go with her because I’m severely malnourished. She smiled through the pain so we wouldn’t worry, but I could see it all in her eyes — and it broke me.
Before the war, my mother was a kindergarten teacher. Today, she’s forced to push through crowds just to bring us something to eat. I’m not writing this to beg for sympathy — I’m writing because we simply can’t endure this alone anymore.
His current Chuffed is shared by @/el-shab-hussein. His original but now defunct GFM is vetted and promoted by @/gaza-evacuation-funds and #408 on the verified fundraiser spreadsheet vetted by el-shab-hussein, MohAyesh and nabulsi, but he is now using Chuffed because GFM shut down his fundraiser
My name is Aboud, a Palestinian from Gaza. For more than 600 days, my family and I have been trapped in the nightmare of war. I lost my home
Your donations help people facing starvation and frequent bombings every day afford food, water, and other basic needs – it is literally lifesaving!! Please share this fundraiser and donate if you are able to! Every little bit helps!
