#crocs more frequently w/ birds for general posing / silhouettes- especially when speaking to wing shapes and the like#i havent drawn in 8 billion years but β¦. yeaug#a solid mix of birds & fish & crocs - and the exact species depends on the character#like Tide is predominately based on Gannets and Trouts when posing & doing face stuff#Sora is based on Cranes (weeehehhehe) and crocs#my oc Foewatcher I base on Bats and Swifts#last I drew Anemone she was very pufferfish coded with some puffin influences#and of course Sealion :-3#when doing details like teeth & mouths I do lean mammalian even if it doesnt biologically track because I like the visual look of it more#one of those things where its like β¦ im designing a visual thang I like and not a Species even if it grinds my brain sometimes#but lots of dog & big cat teeth and sea lion teeth as my mouth refs . . . . .#and sometimes I use the majestic Horse as a posing ref because yaaay bucking#so like . lotsa animals !!#and I can say when it comes to what Im Drawn To in others designs its almost always lizards that I love to see people use as ref in their#own designs β¦#idk why im just not good with Lizards like that !! i study the humble bivalve and bird & live with mammals so Im comfortable & draw to#illustrating those and struggle with the lizard β¦ but I love when others pull it off a lot a lot#because thats how I imagine them in my head :-3#but yeugh!! my ramble#MyRamble#poll
