the story of valentina madrigal wasn’t a happy one , if anything it wasn’t even a story more like a nightmare , before she could even open her eyes , she was left in a dumpster by a mother who couldn’t have cared more about her , leaving her to her own devices at just a few hours after she was born. letting her know that the world was a cruel , cruel place . thankfully a bystander heard her lengthy cries and dropped her off at the nearest hospital , she was hypothermic and spent her first few months at the hospital , the doctors trying to save the life of the small child that had been left out in the cold winter snow of new york city. 

thought her tragedy didn’t stop there , if anything it only continued to get worse . she moved from foster care to foster care, never founding anyone who would show her just the smallest bit of kindness . each home that she went to was worse than the next, taking care of the smallest kids , protecting them from the wrath of their foster parents. by the age of sixteen she was more than sure that she would never find anyone that would want her until mariano and violeta madrigal adopted her . they were the parents that she had always wished she had , they couldn’t bare any children and they wanted her , they loved her as if she was truly theirs and gave her everything in life. mariano was a director ( insp. on guillermo del toro  ) and her mother was a very known famous actress as well as an entrepreneur  ( insp on salma hayek ) , all those years being mistreated somehow made it up , because the love that they showed her , was unlike any other. 

she was the child that they always wanted and they were the parents that she always wished for  and one that , she hadn’t suffered from - was heart break.  never allowing herself to care about anyone enough for them to see what she had been through but a friendship she formed meant most than the others , even if they were drugged infused , she cherished it . that was until he completely vanished , never told her anything . even after she reached out plenty of time and she wondered what she had done wrong , for him to just leave her there as if she was nothing , maybe she should have told him how she really felt but what that have changed the outcome ? making her feel as if she was just something that he could throw in the trash .
