The kalki purana very clearly associates kalki (destroyer of evil forces, ending the current cosmic cycle, and is responsible for restoring righteousness) with moon in dhanistha.

It is specifically dhanishta because the ashta vasus DIRECTLY rule dhanishta. The ashta vasus are the eight elemental deities (water, earth, wind, fire, etc), it literally makes perfect sense when you think about it. You need to have the blessings of the most basic elements to change the universe. You need the alignment of all the energies, IT'S SO BASIC.

Purva bhadrapada is literally associated with stability. The ruling deity of PB is aja ekapada, he stands on one foot and is considered to be responsible for permanently stabilizing all the realms.

Hence these natives tend to be inquisitve thinkers in fields of psychology and therapy, which allows them to probe the human mind.

Magha Moon — “give her a clue or even one red flag and she’ll connect the dots” literally “The Stragetist” Magha is a very “clue” heavy nakshatra that pops up in a lot of mystery and sci-fi work as a result of their tendency to compile mass piles of information (such as the board full of maps and connected dots in the video) to find hidden cosmic truth; they often use their access to their ancestral realm to develop “strategies” to achieve goals with the help of the Pitris.

Her being practically mute (Pushan was mute because he had his teeth knocked out), her impish and Mercurial features and trickster behavior, her devotion to her ageless male companion Peter Pan (agelessness, which is a Bharani archetype; think of Edward in Twilight who is a Bharani native; also The Evil Queen in Snow White is Bharani, and Tuck in Tuck Everlasting is also a Bharani native and Revati and Bharani are yoni counterparts so they often share storylines in their archetypes), she also took on the role of an adopted mother figure for all of The Lost Boys and Wendy Darling which is another archetypal quality to Revati. Also, her jealousy and vindictiveness towards the female characters who try to take Peter’s attention from her.

( Note: a lot of people say Alexis Bledel is an Ashwini Moon but it’s very possible she has a Revati Moon. Her character in Tuck Everlasting is basically the same as Bella in Twilight, played by Revati Sun Kristen Stewart. They are two young and naive girls who accidentally stumble upon a family of immortal, beautiful creatures one day and she proceeds to fall madly, and dangerously, in love with one of the sons [played by a Bharani man in both films] and begs him to make her immortal too so she can be with him and his family forever due to her love and devotion to him as her companion and protector. She then has to make the life-changing choice of whether or not she wants to be mortal or immortal.)

I’ve also noticed a theme of Revati women being the biological mother or metaphorical mother to sons (specifically male) that grow up to be powerful, great leaders or historical figures. Angelina Jolie, an AA verified Revati Moon, played the mother of Alexander The Great in the 2004 movie Alexander. Annette O’Toole, who has a Revati Sun, played the adoptive mother of Clark Kent/Superman in the hit television show Smallville. Kseniya Rappoport, who can have a Revati Moon, played the mother of Oedipus in a play rendition of the fable Oedipus Rex. This nakshatra is about nourishment of children and animals via providing a safe and welcoming environment for them to grow up without prejudice, fear, and shame, etc. This is why this nakshatra is one of the nakshatras common in adopted families and “found families”, as adopted children are more vulnerable and susceptible than other children to experiencing hardship and suffering. Interestingly, Revati Sun Annette O’Toole also played Lana Lang, one of Superman’s love interests, in the original Superman movies from the 80s and 90s. Possible Revati Moon, Margot Kidder, also played Lois Lane, the main love interest of Superman in these same movies. This goes along with how I pointed out that Revati women tend to be the female companion of an ageless and protective male figure (representing the Bharani energy she is unconsciously seeking due to it being her yoni counterpart).

In the Marvel film, The Eternals, Angelina Jolie and Bharani Moon Ma Dong-Seok play immortal, superpowered magical beings that are also in a time-defying romantic relationship. Her character is an elite cosmic warrior and his character acts as her cosmic protector to take care of her when she succumbs to a magical illness that eats away at her memory. These are also two common archetypes of Revati women and Bharani women. Revati women tend to play supernatural warrior types and Bharani men tend to play fatherly figures who look over a “herd” or group of people in need; similar to Ma Dong-Seok’s character in Train To Busan.

Some Revati women who play this celestial warrior types includes Aya Hirano (Revati Moon) as the hypersexualized Lucy Heartfilia in the anime Fairy Tail, whose character quite literally has a celestial key system that allows her to magically conjure up astrology/zodiac-based protective figures to protect her and fight with her in battles; she also has a magical whip (another pattern for Revati women). Lynda Carter, Revati Moon, played a sexualized version of Wonder Woman on TV from 1975 to 1977, an ageless, celestial warrior with a magical whip. Revati Sun Naoko Matsui voiced the hypersexual character Rem in the anime Dream Hunter Rem, where she played a supernatural warrior who could enter the dreams of others to help kill their demons and change their emotions and lives by manipulating their personal dream plane. She had an array of weapons to kill the demons, which included a celestial pistol and sword and occasionally a whip-like magical entity that she could strike them with. In the anime Trese, the titular character (voiced in Tagalog by AA verified Revati Moon Liza Soberano and in English by Revati Sun Shay Mitchell) is a supernatural detective that solves crimes that involved paranormal and mythical creatures and entities that are bringing suffering to people. The character is able to jump between the human world and the supernatural world and she has two ageless male companions that are tasked with the mission of protecting her during her journey. One of my favorite childhood animes, Sugar Sugar Rune, also starred two Revati voice actresses as the main characters of Chocolat and Vanille; two celestial witch sisters that are heirs to a magical throne in a parallel world full of celestial and supernatural beings foreign to the human world. They are competing with each other to become the next Queen Witch of their world by collecting “energy” from young boys their age in the human world. The more loving and protective the young males are to Chocolat and Vanille, the more successful and abundant the two girls become in their magical skills and power.

I was disappointed at first upon finding out I had to play the villain of all the characters. I was convinced my teacher secretly chose this role for me because we did not get along. It didn’t help either that I felt like an outcast because none of the kids wanted to be my friends or play with me. They all thought I was weird because of my ethnic family.

But out of spite, I decided to practice and recite my lines everyday until I was confident I would outshine Sleeping Beauty herself.😅 My dumbass really thought these “popular” kids haven’t seen life like the tortured artist I was.🤣

Unfortunately, I never had the chance to prove myself since my family had to move to a new home. I hated that school, and I wished I had the chance to serve my comeback, smh.🤦‍♀️ But I think what stuck to me was that I missed that dream of the version of myself I saw when I practiced. It really felt fulfilling learning how to play the role even though acting didn’t come as easily to me as studying did.

As I grew older, I didn’t think of it more than some childhood memory I would laugh at and disregard until I learned about the nakshatras during college.

I eventually found out that Eleanor Audley, the voice actor for Disney’s Sleeping Beauty (1959), is Anuradha Sun, and Kristen Bauer, who played Maleficient in ABC’s Once Upon a Time, is also an Anuradha Sun.

Eerily enough, I have Anuradha Sun as well!😮

Sometimes I ponder what would have happened in an alternative timeline if I had the chance?😅 Perhaps I really was on to something with how dedicated I chose to be for the role.😂

Although, what’s interesting is how Revati has been mentioned to be associated with this tale. I don’t know if this has been mentioned too, but Saturn is said to be born in this nakshatra and coincidently, Anuradha is ruled by Saturn. That would explain the relationship between Aurora and Maleficient where Revati’s themes, as carried out through the essence of Aurora’s character, is expressed by the contrast of Saturnian elements exhibited from Maleficent’s true nature. If I find the blog delving into the relationship between Saturn and Revati through this tale, I will reblog it. I think it’s intriguing how Saturn could teach us a lot about Revati at its core through Sleeping Beauty.

(Mercury Nakshatras)

Here we are!! Pt 3!! I'm so excited to talk about Mercury nakshatras because my Moon is in Ashlesha and every since I started learning about Vedic Astrology and read up on Ashlesha, I knew I had found something that finally explained everything I had every been wondering about that western astrology couldn't answer.

So, I'm super excited for this one and hopefully I don't ramble too much about it so that it becomes insufferable to read - but let's get into it!

Quick disclaimer: this is just my opinion, this is a generalization and not meant to target anyone in particular, this is for anyone who identifies as a woman or femme presenting, if that's not you, feel free to skip this read! Also, when I say Madonna vs Whore I'm not referencing anyone's sexual activity, orientation or preferences, I am ONLY using it in the psychological profiling sense of does this person possess what is considered status quo (Madonna) or go against that (Whore).

As a reminder, this was the system I came up with to kind of distinguish each archetype. Please go read pt 1 to get the full context of how I came up with these charts! I promise, this post and next few to come, will make much more sense lmao

Okayyyy, so...

MERCURY - THE TEMPTRESS

(Ashlesha, Jyestha & Revati)

I want to first talk about why I believe there are different sub-types to each umbrella Archetype further. I mentioned in my intro to this series that it's mainly because women and femmes are complex human beings that aren't going to fit the mold exactly every time especially with such a limited binary (just like everything else in life :/). But I also think when you go down the list of the 9 different archetypes, you start to comb out this story of how the umbrella archetypes (and really women as a whole) evolve.

I want to put this cheat sheet or guide on the characteristics of the three major archetypes up again to point out my choice to reference the Maiden, the Mother and the Crone or the Triple Goddess.

If you're unfamiliar, The Triple Goddess recalls the stages that a woman goes through in her life (yes sometimes it can be taken literally, in that some women or femmes will become mothers and we all become crones in old age as we gain wisdom from just breathing, but), it's mostly meant to be metaphorical. When we're young maidens, our fate is mostly left up to those around us as society tries to dictate how we are supposed to perform femininity, matriarchal figures in the home tend to prime us for receiving the male in his uninhibited state (because why should he have to make himself more presentable) in the softest and most forgiving way possible so that she doesn't become frightened by her "womanly" duties when it's her turn. Speaking on the journey young femmes go through to discover their femininity and how they define it within themselves.

The mother, takes on the responsibility of raising the home, not just her children but her husband, her elders and his elders and is tasked with conjuring love, spirituality, intellect and everything else that society expects out of thin air. Her journey is to reconcile the idea of what she thinks femininity should be with what the patriarchy demands it to be. But the farther along she goes in her journey the easier it is for her to alchemize her desires.

Then the crone, in her wise old age, is forced to let the younger generations take the reins, only allowed to impart whatever wisdom she can that isn't too offensive or honest for making the mistake of scaring the youth in the wrong direction can be detrimental. The crone must watch as the empire she built crumbles and starts again with a new maiden. The crone is to make peace with all that she's faced and answer when she is called, she must accept that things change.

There's so much to read up on about this cycle of life, these stages of womanhood, and I don't even think I did it justice describing it here. The Triple Goddess in particular (a symbol of a crescent moon on either side of a full moon) is meant to signify the merging of all three stages or archetype to embody the Devine Feminine and I think that concept is very relevant in the occult in general but specifically this conversation because the Madonna-Whore Complex is very tied to men's idea of what is truly feminine. Misogyny is so deeply ingrained in society, that even the small part of the world where women and femmes "dominate" and lead the way in, are all rooted in the patriarchy.

Don't get me wrong, I love astrology, I love the idea of the Devine Feminine, I love having a symbol & metaphor for how it feels to be a woman in the world, but it's all based off of this general sentiment from men, that women are inherently lacking cosmic significance (Abrahamic religion worshiping a male god as the one and only when men don't even have wombs, or women being called witches for having prophetic dreams and hearing God, but men considered messiahs for the same thing). This idea that there is this "Devine" (superior) way of being a woman that doesn't exist on earth and we must strive to is bullshit. It's stupid and misogynistic.

So getting back on track, what the hell does that have to do with anything? Why bring it up, why am I even writing this blog if I think that astrology, the occult and any other "pseudoscience" is bullshit? First of all, I don't think astrology or the occult or any other "pseudoscience" are all bullshit. Tarot dates back to the ancient Egyptians, astrology as we know it today first started in India with Vedic astrology and the earliest known form of astrology started in Mesopotamia. Many cultures all over the world practice what we in the west would consider "witchcraft" to help heal people (find real medical diagnostics, ease people's minds from grief and trauma or find solutions to external problems that no one else has the answer to). Asia and Latin America in particular practice a lot of holistic approaches to medicine and they've been working for centuries without any chemical interference. So, I don't think it's bullshit. I don't think all of it has it's roots in misogyny.

Second of all, there's nothing wrong with reclaiming meaning where it has once been lost. History is incredibly important to progress. How can you move forward without remembering where you came from? There's nothing wrong with educating people on the truth behind their words and actions.

And that's where Mercury comes in. As I said in pt2, the Sun, Moon and Mercury are the three most personal planets (not including the ASC - technically not a planet) in a person's chart. The Sun and Moon are ego and emotion respectively, having a huge influence on how we perceive the world and how the world receives us right back, but Mercury was consciousness. Mercury is the meeting of two worlds, Mercury sees itself (ego) and it sees you (emotion) but it also sees you looking at it (conscious).

If we go back to the whole stages of womanhood, and compare that to all of the Archetypes, we see the evolution of a girl into a woman and we see within each sup-type how she gets from one stage to another. I asked at the end of my Moon dom femmes post "what happens when the perfect girl isn't so perfect?" The transition from Moon to Mercury from the Girlfriend to the Temptress is a very subtle shift in - what? Consciousness.

This isn't to say that Moon women/ femmes aren't aware of their circumstances, I think I made it very clear in my last post, that a lot of Moon women are very aware of how people perceive them, can use that to their advantage and are often extremely vocal about the issues they face under the patriarchy. The kind of consciousness I'm talking about is the shift in understanding how they can change their circumstances.

If you look at all of the Mercury Nakshatras, they are all at the end of what is called Gandata which is the karmic intersection where cycles are completed and change is ushered in with Ketu, but we'll get to that wayyy later lol

I want to emphasize again, this isn't to say that Moon women have zero control over their lives, like I said many, many Moon femmes have very much a lot of control over their lives, in fact in some ways I think more so than Mercury. Looking at the guide, the Madonna overall is characterized as having majority of her control over her sense of self but lacks experience to have control over the outside world. So when this shift in consciousness occurs, when the Madonna gets tired of hearing how perfect she is without really seeing any concrete evidence that people genuinely believe this is true (ie. what about me is so perfect, so much better than Suzy Jo over there?), this is where we get Mercury - the Temptress.

See Mercury's mind is incredibly restless, they're curious, they crave exploration, but for whatever karmic reason (dependent on which Gandata they sit at), they keep getting pulled back in to tie up any loose ends or first must gain the experience to truly run free. So they poke and they prod, they see what they can get away with and usually it's not in a malicious way like a lot of Vedic astrologers and Mercury slanderers would like you to believe, usually it's because they are incredibly under-stimulated and are dying to break out of their mental prisons (they are right there on the precipice of big change after all).

The patriarchy finds this very interesting. She looks so sweet and yet there's something about her that feels "wild" or "untamed". Sometimes, if Mercury gets bored enough and picks up on this, she will pull up a chair and play the game.

Mercury loves games. Games are mentally stimulating, they have risks, they have consequences, you learn and gain experience from games.... Unfortunately, half of the time, people don't know Mercury is playing a game. To everyone else, that's a man's heart you're toying with! To everyone else, Mercury's the biggest bitch in the room because "she knows what she's doing" But, is that such a crime?

Mercury femmes sit on this very fine line (due to embodying both the Madonna and the Whore) where no matter what she does, she's wrong. Mercury femmes I've noticed in particular usually have a lot of people feel extremely possessive over their bodies (Marilyn Monroe [Ashlesha ASC], Jodie Foster [Jyestha ASC], Amber Rose [Revati ASC], Amanda Bynes [Revati Sun], Megan Fox [Ashlesha Moon], Hailee Steinfeld [Jyestha Sun]. The List could go on and on, there's so many Mercury femmes who's bodies are treated like property, even myself, my ex, who I had to get a restraining order on at one point because of how violent he was, said, "I can touch you how ever I want, I own you") and as long as they play the docile little mouse, everyone is happy but the minute the speak out (obviously, it's Mercury) people turn on them and try to burn them at the stake ( Rose McGowan [Jyestha Moon], Megan Fox [Ashlesha Moon], Barbie Ferreira [Jyestha Sun & Revati ASC] and the list goes on...).

I really debated putting Mercury in the physical and emotional whore Archetype because of how much they get treated like societal pariahs (that just feels very pure Whore coded) but when I really think about it, I feel like they get the most flack because they sit on that line, infuriating people who can't get past their internalized misogyny and chastise Mercury for attempting to explore other forms of being feminine.

This is also why I want to reject the "Divine" Feminine and embrace the "Divine Feminine". Femininity is inherently divine, there's no one way to be feminine (therefore no one way to be divine), to be divine is to be feminine and to be feminine is divine and I think that is a very important lesson that Mercury teaches us as we evolve and progress through each major archetype, especially through the Madonna.

The Madonna is so idolized that it's almost always impossible to see her as a real human being. We need Mercury to tempt us (society but also other femmes) into questioning things deeper, we need her to expose the fallacies of the patriarchy and tease forth the idea that there is so much more out there to explore and experience. To live life!

Kind of a segue into the last pt for the Madonna sequence in the next post, but I find it really interesting that Clementine from Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, played by Jyestha ASC, Kate Winslet is one of if not the only "Manic Pixie Dream Girl" who feminist media analysts don't consider a true MPDG and she has zero Sun placements (which is the subtype I put Sun femmes under - ik I got it from Claire Nakti but I agree and I will explain why it works with my system lol). I think it's because Clem and Joel have a real relationship, they both have flaws and real reactions to the things going on around her. She has agency, her actions affect the story, not just the main character who is usually the one who ultimately makes the final decision, she is a main character. It's not a story about Joel (well kind of lmao) getting over the relationship, it's about both of them processing the very real human connection they built with each other.

I also think her line, "I'm just a fucked up girl, looking for my own peace of mind" perfectly encapsulates why I don't consider her a MPDG and the struggle that Mercury faces under this Madonna subtype (ironically, Kate Winslet is also a Hasta Sun). Mercury and Clem desperately want to be seen as a real person which is why it is so horrifying when Elijah Wood's character keeps reciting every real memory and experience she had with Joel at her, trying to make her like him.

Where Moon doms are passive in changing how people view them, Mercury is not. Mercury craves to break through, they can't resist the urge to explore especially when everyone around them keeps telling them nice girls just don't do that. So they're forced to unleash chaos showing everyone just exactly what nice girls are capable of.

so it’s not just “i’m a revati moon”, you have to look at where mercury (revati’s lord) is placed, and that nakshatra often shows how the energy actually expresses itself, even physically.

Mercury people are often times naturals at the art of sex, but intimacy may be something they'll withhold until they feel safe. And often times they'll want intimacy with people close to them. Brihaspati and Chandra both demanded paternity of Budha out of rage but Brahma intervened and gave Brihaspati legal paternity of Budha, despite him biologically being Chandra’s child. Because Tara is the consort of Brihaspati, she is also considered to be a female equivalent of Jupiter as a planetary energy, so it is seen that Budha has both traits of Moon and Jupiter in him. So he has both what is common and average (Moon) and what is exotic and foreign (Jupiter), which explains why the natives of Mercury nakshatras can be seen as having these features that people deem to be ethereal and otherworldly, which are things that are also often attributed to racially mixed people as they tend to look far different (in a sort of otherworldly way) from most people despite having visible traits of both of their parens racial backgrounds. There is even a common belief that mixed people tend to be more physically attractive due to their unique blend of features that can’t be found easily in one race. This belief has even made people question if uncannily attractive people are mixed by default, even when they’re not.
