Percy: “So I’m just swimmin, and minding my own business when like twenty people asked for my help”

Annabeth: *girl in class gets the answer to a question wrong* “I know this bitch did not just say that”

Grover: “Peace not War!!”

Jason: *sees lightning* “ what the SHIT”

Piper: I know I’m gorgeous but y’all gotta stop staring”

Frank: “and the next thing I knew, I was a big ass fish”

Hazel: *showing a ring off* “this is fake, unlike me cause I’m a real one”

Reyna: *freshman screaming in the hallway* “ Nope nope nope nope fuck you” *points to them*

Nico: I am deaaaaad insiIiIiIde” *sings this btw*

Will: *takes out a ziplock bag full of advil* “I’m your new favorite doctor bitch”

I’m talking maybe 25/26 while the rest of the seven are still the same age.

First and foremost, I would have loved to see how Percy and Annabeth would have been a decade older.

When the pretty blonde lady comes flying off the chariot and demands where he is and Butch explains that she’s been looking for her husband, Percy Jackson.

(I mean imagine how that would have affected us as readers. Percy and Annabeth weren’t supposed to even be in this series now here they are but older and MARRIED?? that would have fuckin shook me)

Also, this means they’re past the college age, sooooo what have they been doing with their lives??

I imagine they went to school somewhere in New York, not necessarily  the same colleges but close to both camp and mount Olympus.

And Annabeth’s been designing for Olympus a near decade.

Percy, of course did get a degree (haven’t decided what yet) but the two of them have basically been the co-leaders of CHB alongside Chiron.

Also, I’m a huge proponent of Annabeth building a “New Rome” equivalent in Camp Half-blood so when Jason, Piper, and Leo arrive to Camp Half-Blood there are houses and we see Travis and Connor and Clarisse as older and alive and doing well.

Piper sees Percy’s and Annabeth’s house and she can tell its a house well lived and loved in. There are dozens of pictures of Percy and Annabeth, a tray of blue cookies left on the counter, blanket and books along the couch, and yet looking at Annabeth, tears in her eyes, it somehow feels cold and empty.

Annabeth, who woke up, with Percy gone from their bed.

The photo in the big house of Percy and Annabeth is one of their wedding.

Now PERCY

Who wakes up with no memories except of the beautiful blonde girl.

Nothing to his name except a pen in his pocket and a ring on his finger and he knows that she must be the one he’s married to.

Now, the second part, is the characterization. Cause the age gape would significantly shift things.

So one things that often get complained about with Percy’s Character arc in hoo is that its the same one from pjo -  Zero to hero…. which doesn’t make sense considering how we left pjo. 

Percy is the hero. He shouldn’t be treated like the underdog anymore

The arc, I believe, should be more along the lines of Percy not wanting to have to live up to this “hero” legacy.

Feeling like the worlds just waiting for him to fail.

Or maybe he feels like he has too much power.

Also, he’s more hardened. He’s been doing this for thirteen years now.

And he’s powerful. Within canon, Percy’s powers have been shown to grow and grow and grow exponentially in a quick rate of time 

now imagine a decade more worth of experience on top of this.

cough*blood bending percy*cough

So Percy finds Camp Jupiter, Hera/Juno tells him the river will wash away the curse.

And Percy’s, whose now had the curse longer in his life than he hasn’t had the curse and knows that he is so used to fighting on strictly offense that he would probably die, forgetting he’s no longer invincible. 

Also its simply a “superbly dumb idea to lose a curse like that” and is like - uh, no.

And lifts the River over them instead.

And when he comes onto Camp Jupiter’s army.

He’s like where are your adults.

and they’re like “Oh :) When you’re an adult :) you retire :) the children :) are the ones to lead the army :)”

Insert Percy’s “the-fuck-you-mean” expression.

And when its time for the quest to Alaska, Percy’s actually like “No, I’ve gotta find my wife.”

And Hazel is genuinely like “That’s ok! Frank and I can handle this ourselves!”

And he’s watching this thirteen year old and fifteen year old walk off and he just looks up at the sky, sighs deeply, and says “gods dammit” before following them.

But like, I really would want to see Percy and Annabeth take on a mentoring role to the rest of the seven

The “kids”

I may or may not have just seen into the Spiderverse 

Like of course we can still have tension between them all. But I feel in a way this would have encouraged more growth between them all. 

I’m not sure if I would still include the Percy and Jason competition, or at least it would have to change into something like Jason feeling like he has to live up to this image of Percy. And Percy would of course be like “No, No you don’t.”

I would also love to see Percy and Annabeth having these moments of watching the young members and realizing “this was me.”

1. falling asleep with his dad on the sofa

2. pulling on the cat’s tail and cackling madly

3. falling asleep in his mum’s arms

4. waking up with two parents cooing over him

5. being lulled by his dad’s voice—singing terribly, but he didn’t care

6. watching his mum and dad dance around the living room

7. and then his dad scooping him up off the floor and the three of them dancing around the living room

8. being sick and spending four solid days in his parents’ arms—them cooing and sushing and rubbing his back until he felt better

9.  having as much cake as he wanted on his birthday

10. both his parents sneaking his biscuits when the other wasn’t looking

11. his dad talking to him as if he was already his best mate in the world

12. those amazing lights from his dad’s wand

13. his mum levitating him in the air for fun

14. memorizing his mum’s twenty kinds of laughs

15. falling asleep nestled in-between his parents on the sofa/in bed

16. sleeping snuggled with his toy broomstick in his cot b/c he couldn’t bear to let it go and his parents didn’t want to tell him no

17. the funny lady who came over and brought him biscuits

18. carving a pumpkin with his parents and smashing goo all over the floor

19. crying when the goo got in his eyes

20. laughing when his mum vanished it and chasing after the cat

21. trying to ride the cat

22. knowing if he cried his mum or dad would come make it right

23. playing peek-a-boo beneath his dad’s invisbility cloak

24. learning “sssshhhhh” when he and his mum were hiding underneath the cloak from dada 

25. conspiratorial whispers/secrets

26. his mum blowing raspberries on his tummy/cheeks/feet/legs

27. grabbing his dad’s glasses and holding them victoriously in his chubby little hands as he promptly puts them in his mouth

28. and then his dad puts them on, slobbery and all, deliberately upside down to make him giggle

29. his dad telling he and his mum wizarding stories from the animated pop up book

30. his mum telling he and his dad muggle stories from the book with shiny edges

31. warm nights spent on the sofa by the fire eating popcorn (which wasn’t always realized as a chocking hazard so he was probably given some)

32. little baby belches after tiny sips of butterbeer from uncle pafoo

33. being mesmerized by the golden snitch his mum charmed to float above his bed

34. chasing after the quaffle—that was bigger than him—around the living room floor while dada chased him on all fours

35. falling asleep snuggled next to the kiddy

36. sneaking out with his dad under the invisibility cloak—with silencing charms, of course—and taking walks around the neighborhood

37. lying out in the back garden—which had a tall fence around the perimeter—and digging in the dirt while his mum and dad worked in the garden

38. picnics on the grass in said garden

39. hearing he was loved and how special he was and how wonderful he was every day for the first year and three months of his life

40. learning his mum’s twenty kinds of kisses and hugs

41. playing quaffle with dada and uncles padfoot and remus and peter—in which he was the quaffle

42. playing with his dad’s mirror until uncle padfoot’s face showed up

43. almost choking on his mum’s wizarding chess set

44. a first christmas he didn’t even understand because he was so young, but the house was sparkly and he liked the lights and the music and he learned to crawl by trying to get over to the tree and pull the baubles off

45. knowing that his dad smelled like peppermint and his mum smelled like raspberries

46. hours spent in the kitchen while his mum brewed potions which smelled terrible but were full of interesting things to try and grab at

47. watching his dad work on the crossword in the mornings and playing peek-a-boo with the paper

48. eating toast in the mornings and getting jam hopelessly smeared in his face and cheeks and fingers and hair

49. hearing from his mum every day that he looked and acted just like his dada

52. his mum humming absent-mindedly while she paints his nursery for the fourth time

53. his dad with an apron on making everybody a fantastic dinner

54. his mum with the same apron on making fantastic fudge

55. pulling all the books off the shelf, which his dad had arranged alphabetically, crying when he’s scolded, but laughing with delight as his dad waves his wand and the books go back

56. rocking in the chair his mum inherited from her grandmother

57. falling asleeping in the rocking chair with his fist curled around a strand of his mum’s hair and his head nestled into the crook of her shoulder/collar of her blouse

58. his mum falling asleep in the chair, too, and his dad carrying them all to bed

59. trying to climb the stairs and tumbling down the first three, hurting his knee, but his dad makes it all better

60. trying to climb the stairs and being confused as hell when he can’t get to them because his parents have put up a magical barrier

61. trying to drink from a big boy cup and spilling it all over himself

62. BATH TIME WITH MAGICAL BATH TOYS MOTHERFUCKERS HOW AWESOME WOULD THAT BE

63. playing with his magical set of dragons that are charmed to fly around

64. being scooped up and held in his mum’s gryffindor scarf to keep him warm

65. it’s a freak snowstorm and he’s only six months old but they transifgure a warm baby cloak and bundle him up and take him out in the back garden to play in four centimeters of snow

66. watching people come in and out of the church on sundays

67. chasing after the paper bats his mum conjured on his broomstick, crumpling them up and saying pweese pweese until she charms them to flap around again

68. falling asleep to the sound of his dad and their mates’ raucous laughter in the living room

69. watching his parents magically fold laundry and thinking the flapping clothes are the coolest thing

70. magical baby blocks that assemble themselves so he can knock them over

71. knocking over his mum’s bottle of ink as she’s writing a letter and toddling halfway across the room with baby ink stains and they’re so adorable she takes a picture before vanishing them away

72. art time with baby finger paints and he makes his dada a masterpice. they have an entire wall coated with harry’s masterpieces.

73. watching the birds in the tree out back—his mum has made an elaborate story about the baby birds in the nest—they watched the eggs and then there were babies, like him, and he watched them grow all summer. his dad and mum talk about what adventures the baby birds are going to go on in the back garden each day. he learns the different birds and their calls and their names.

74. picking flowers with his dad in the back garden and taking one into mummy, all by himself, and it’s crushed and wilted in his chubby little hands from the kitchen to the living room but she treasures it and puts it in a vase all the same

75. she has an entire window sill of tiny vases with crushed flowers

76. blowing out candles on his mum’s birthday cake, and his dad’s, when really it was spittle and slobber all over the place, even though they didn’t seem to mind

77. more bath time fun because his mum dries him with wind from her wand and it tickles his tummy

78. and his dad blows bubbles in the bath and makes a baby whirlpool that harry loves to splash

79. uncle peter comes over for sunday dinners and he always has sweets in his pockets for harry

80. standing with his mum in the stairway, looking at pictures of people he doesn’t know but hearing story after story about grandmum and grandpa potter and grandmum and grandpa evans

81. knowing that the most comfortable place in the world was his mum’s arms

82. and the safest places was his dad’s arms

83. and the funnest place was his uncle’s arms

84. learning to count to ten in the 10 little dragon’s song his dad taught him and his mum calls wildly inappropriate for a baby

85. learning the words to a muggle song his mum taught him and his dad calls wildly inappropriate for a baby

86. his dad can draw anything and harry tells him what to draw, so his dad makes it, and they end up with fifty pictures of padfoot.

87. taking pictures with the enchanted camera and watching the baby in the pictures with mum and da

88. food fights. they definitely happened.

89. harry having an especially stinky poo and his mum and dad have to draw straws to see who has to change it.

90. harry saying a curse word because his mum—not his dad—let it slip when she botched a potion.

91. wearing his baby potter jersey and listening to the match with his parents on the wireless as if it were a perfectly normal thing for an eight month to be doing.

92. his dad vanishing the turnips off his high chair when his mum wasn’t looking.

93. his mum vanishing the green beans off his high chair when his dad wasn’t looking.

94. james trying to scold harry for hitting the cat and failing completely because his green eyes are watering up just the way that lily’s do, and that’s his weakness

95. lily trying to scold harry and failing completely  because he’s covered in flour, completely starkers, wearing a shit eating grin he inherited from his father, and that’s his weakness

96. listening to his mum’s record collection for hours upon hours whilst they piddled around the house

97. his first accidental magic—summoning his broomstick from off the table—and his parents are so proud and he’s grinning from ear to ear and so are they 

98. gripping his mum’s wand as she “lets” him do magic

99.  gripping his dad’s wand as he “lets” him do magic

Teddy Lupin probably adored Ginny and Harry and one day when he mastered his mothers gift I can imagine him looking into the mirror and wishing he looked just like his parents. I can imagine he sat at his mirror and closed his eyes and as his hair turned into his mothers fiery red and he opened his eyes to smile at his bottlenose green eyes in the mirror.

I can imagine Teddy grinning as he walks out into the dining hall where the two closest things he had as parents looked at him-and suddenly Harry begins to cry. Shaking his head Harry goes and kneels over to his first almost son and says, “No Ted, no.”

“B-but why?” Teddy asks his own eyes tearing up slightly, “I want to look like you dad.”

“Not like me, okay?” and this is the first time Harry shows him a picture of Lupin and Tonks, “These are your parents and you are very very lucky that they were. I will always be second best okay?”

That night Teddy stares at the picture for the longest time…I like his hair color…I like her nose…and in the morning he walks out again and this time Harry has a battle of emotions-of sadness and joy-as Teddy smiles his mother’s smile filling his fathers eyes with a sort of sad happiness as well. 

“I miss them,” Teddy whispered.
