it’s a damn GOOD thing that mike enjoys being showered in attention, or else it would start getting really old really fast being approached by so many strangers about whatever new ADORABLE face he’s out walking today. such is the curse of a dogsitter. “ no, man, what the fuck? it’s a CAT. ” a pause, then he flashes a smile, crouches down to pick up the boxer puppy circling their feet. “ yeah, his name’s dexter. he’s still got that ‘ play-bite everything i see ’ puppy syndrome, so watch it, but feel free to pet him, man. ”

zuko isn’t really amused or INTERESTED by the man that is taking care of the dog. he’s only interested in the puppy itself, panting happily in the hot sun. so he makes no visible response to the joke, instead leaning down to pet the dog. of course, this is before the other has finished his sentence, so zuko gets BIT, flames leaving his lips as he exhales in surprise. that was UNEXPECTED. but at least he still retained his bending. “ yeah, think i got that. he’s still cute though. “
