i just rewatched the rooftop scene where prompto confesses all his insecurities and i love it so so much. it’s honestly perfect for communicating his feelings in such a short space of time. calling himself a “mess of hangups” and talking about how he forgets it all when he’s around the guys. but my favourite thing is the way noctis barely pays it any mind because to him, prompto’s worthlessness is such a ridiculous concept that he doesn’t even bother to approach. it was the same when prom confessed to ‘being’ an MT. he took the same “that’s so ridiculous i’m not even going to pretend i care” approach. which is his way of saying “i love you no matter what you think about yourself”
