ya know for a while i got mad insecure about my pro hero canon (before the epilogue yk) but now it totes makes sense to me
cos katsuki never smiled in the epilogue. he’s the only one who doesn’t and that to me means he didn’t find any happiness toward the end , like fr this man’s did all that he did and ended up #15 and without his baddie by his side ,, and i just saw this character who went thru sm growth just crumble right before my stupid love filled eyes.
and some might argue “well kat is strong he’ll rise up he probs doesn’t care about that it doesn’t define him blah blah”
kat never not cared what other ppl thought of him and a lot of his value as a person came from the fact everyone (deku mainly) thought he was the greatest thing since sliced bread i love carbs but anyway
so for him to be shit talked by the media and not beloved by the public (after he died in a war like give a diva a break!!) ,, to be rejected by his bestie ,, to no one bothering to try and challenge him ,, at this point he’s legit just a guy. he’s not where he wanted to be and he’s not like all might at all (not a symbol of hope ppl think he’s an ass wtf) ,,
and then seeing all his friends smiling together and like being seemingly happy with what they’re doing and where they are ,, he feels left behind fr cos for so long he wasn’t focusing on himself but working toward making someone else’s dream come true in the hopes that the joint dream they had would finally come true only for that rude awakening like wow
if everyone is special then no one is special
anyway this leads me to my whole : playboy Katsuki alcoholic era where he just kinda lets himself not gaf for once and kinda vibes but it’s also where he has to face himself and accept that things will never be the same and that while the damage that has been done can be patched up , you just kinda never got the color of the walls to match again
