I’ve thought about this for awhile and it’s with the rumour of Arisu’s teacher going out with her, a lot of people interpreted that it was just a fantasy of hers but with that one scene of her on her computer calling Juri(?), Juri brings up the rumour then says she should get with this guy she knows and it will help clear up the rumours. Then after the call ends, Arisu talks to herself and says “it’s not a rumour though.” So my thought is that if it wasn’t a rumour and it was true then Arisu was groomed..which is very clear. But also ever since I’ve watched those scenes about Arisu’s and her teachers relationship I wondered how it really started, like if Arisu grew attached to him because she possibly had family issues and saw him as a father figure and he took advantage of that or her teacher had his eyes on her from the beginning and Arisu fell into his manipulation. Even if people think she wasn’t groomed and it was just a crush there’s a lot of evidence that it did happen. Like in layer 13 there will be an appearance of Arisu as an adult with her teacher, which they’re obviously dating at the end and are now talking about their new apartment/house they’re moving into. Arisu says that she will be picking the colour for something and he said “as long as you’re happy it’s fine by me” and she responds back with “who’s my good student.” Which I would say is quite weird and personally sickening since there’s SO much information on the subject of him grooming her so I have a strong feeling he used to say that to her when she was still in school as his student. Anyway I’m just really interested in Arisu’s story and character I can’t help but wish there was some background information about her family because I feel like it could explain a lot.
