When you're family is preparing for a trip back to the Phil and you have to buy presents for every relative and neighbor. And then you have balikbyan boxes filled with every imaginable thing.

When it's midnight and all of a sudden, a Filipino telemarketer calls if you want to buy something or something regarding your Filipino tv channels.

When there's Lechon at a party and everyone starts taking pictures with it. Then everyone attacks it when it's time to eat.

When you're watching travel shows where the host goes to the Philippines and they COMPLETELY butcher the words.

Noticing that the Philippines hardly ever comes up in your History books or classes. And whenever they do, you know you get a tiny bit excited!

When you've mastered the technique of eating with your hands.

When you speak to your parents in a mixture of English and some Tagalog words.
