”— So let me get this straight. You heard that I not only bought chocolate, but an excess amount of it, and you believed whomever told you? And on top of that, you thought if I did have chocolate that I would be willing to sell it to someone?”
"Welll, yes." Perhaps if she hadn't been so set on the idea of having a chocolate frog she would have thought it through a little more. Lu rubbed her temples. "Despite what I believed do you or do you not have chocolate? And if you do are you willing to sell some? If not, I'll head back down to the kitchens okay."
; Headcanon
The Hufflepuff common room is notorious for being the closest to the kitchens, and Lucy has always taken full advantage of that. One of the things she loves most about it though are the house elves. Not only does she often talk to them but she learns from them and at Christmastime and other holidays Lu makes sure to bake a cake, or something similar specifically for them because she wants them to enjoy one pieces of a meal that they didn't have to make.

“— I’m sorry, can I help you with something?”
"I don't know -- can you?" Lu grinned, like she was the cleverest person in the world. "No, actuallllllly, I heard that you might have some leftover chocolate frogs from the last Hogsmeade trip, and I was wooooondering if I could buy a few off you."

Lu sat on the couch, nose pressed up against the glass as she watched her mother climb out the the taxi, grocery bags in hand. She was pretty, with perfectly curled ginger hair and a made up face which didn’t look anything but classy. In Lucy’s eyes she was the epitome of beauty, no one was even on the same level as her mum, but this vision grew blurry as her breath fogged up the glass. She wiped the fog away impatiently, looking down toward the street below the figure nowhere to be seen. The taxi sped off and was replaced with three others, all people milling about with places to go and people to see. Sometimes she envied them. Sometimes, when she was quite tired with being cooped up in this flat of their’s she imagined soaring over the cars and making faces at the drivers — but no one would crash, for they would be too dumbfounded at her amazing new skill.
She thought about that a lot.

"What is a ghost? A tragedy condemned to repeat itself time and again? An instant of pain, perhaps. Something dead which still seems to be alive. An emotion suspended in time. Like a blurred photograph. Like an insect trapped in amber. A ghost is me.”

My cheeks grow dandelions, and I always thought they were so pretty until I was told they were weeds, and I spend most of my days wondering about the difference, and wondering if I can ever forgive the person who pointed it out.

”Those things can often overlap in people. Some of the time without them even realising.” She smiled tightly. Andromeda was used to people talking about her family and everything they were but she’d never been the one to take revenge over little comments. "Assuming I’d commit murder just for Quidditch? No one cares that much, though I’ll be sure to pass the message over to Bella."
"Well not in me." Lu said bluntly with a quick shrug. She had been sure to not mixed those wires when growing up.Far too often the blunt and stupid met unhappy endings too early in life, she wanted to be old, in a rocking chair with heaps and heaps of grandchildren. "Oh yes, tell the wicked witch of the west and alllll your problems will be solved." She quirked an eyebrow. "I though you were the good witch,"
On her way toward a seat at the Ravenclaw table, Rita’s ears picked up a sensitive frequency coming from the line of Hufflepuffs closest to her. One of the Quidditch first-stringers, she pinpointed, and the girl was spouting off random truths — something about the tone struck her as genuine. Genuine enough for Rita Skeeter.
”Did we accidentally hit the bottle too hard last night?” Rita asked, as she approached. Most people she conversed with were tight-lipped and never as forthcoming about mundane things; perhaps, there was an external force at work that she could use to her advantage.
Lu looked toward Rita with a mild disdain, the girl was tolerable on most days but on a day like today, when she did not have control of what she was saying, Rita's presence was an absolute nightmare. She pressed her lips together tightly, running a hand through her silky hair, trying to force the words she actually wanted to say.
"I've never had a pet before I came to Hogwarts, is that weird?" She frowned, happy that this was the more innocent of the truths. Lucy chewed on her bottom lip, trying terribly hard not to talk. Honestly, it had never been a strong suit for her. "You always struck me as a Slytherin you know, not that that's a bad thing, my Mum was a Slytherin, but there always seemed to be a sharper edge to you then most 'claws."
