My secret santa gift is for bunni @mochiibunmoon! I hope you enjoy~
This is only part one of the gift! Part two is coming soon which is the crossover/pairing request
I hoped to post this part last night, but it was really late and I was on the verge of falling asleep... My sleep schedule this week was just crazy XD
“I wish the Shikon no Tama never came into existence.”
She was in the midst of a fierce battle when the words hidden deep inside her heart slipped past her bloodied lips. She more than saw the cursed bauble that she and her comrades were fighting for rise in the air and float innocently over the bloody battlefield, she felt it respond to her unbidden words through the shattered bond she has with the jewel. Kagome was weary, but she was more than ready to face the consequences of wishing upon the Shikon no Tama.
Distracted by the rising aura of the jewel, Kagome almost didn’t sense the incoming danger of a demon about to thrust its claws through her chest, and just as she was about to counter the assault, everything but herself and the jewel came to a sudden stop. Everywhere she looked, there was this unnatural standstill as if everything was frozen in time. She was no stranger to time manipulation, but she still kept her guard up, and then, eerie voices echoed in the still air.
“Your wish has been heard, Guardian of the Shikon no Tama, and so it shall be.”
Kagome couldn’t help the tired and bitter smile that formed on her lips when she heard an amalgamation of distorted voices coming from the jewel. It sounded neither male nor female, but there was no mistaking the words she heard with piercing clarity. Her wish, whether intentional or not, was being granted.
She knew the consequences of her wish was heavy. She expected it to be something more than she was willing to pay for, but she was tired and she just wanted everything to end after all the time she wasted of her life just to fix a mistake she inevitably made. Ultimately, she already knew that by wishing the Shikon no Tama from existence, she too, will cease to exist.
Had the jewel never existed in the first place, there was no doubt in Kagome’s mind that she would have never been born.
Just as Kagome was starting to lose consciousness, the eerie voices from the jewel filled the still air.
“We are the souls within the Shikon no Tama and we have judged your soul, Higurashi Kagome, but Higurashi no more, that your soul, vast as it could be, is neither tainted black nor pure as white. It is simply are.
We have come to a decision to grant you a boon.
For you, who has been lost to time and caged into a life not of your own doing, we have decided to grant you a new beginning.
You will mourn for what you have lost, but in this new beginning, you will eventually want for nothing.”
The last thing Kagome knew before everything went dark was the jewel’s last words.
“We wish you great endeavors, Kagome.”
After everything was said and done, the Shikon no Tama simply faded from existence, and so, everything that has been affected by the jewel’s existence became undone.
