what’s a shamble? i got a bunch of d&d stuff when searching for it.

So, I live in a household of magicians from various paths.

My landlord holds his focus in science (he used to work for NASA and Lockheed Martin) and is currently building psychic machines, specifically a plastic ball that works kinda like “Bop It” for witches. Don’t ask me how they work yet because the mathematical knowledge it takes to explain how is WAY above my abilities to understand or articulate. But a lot of the times I watch my landlord stare and argue late into the night with his whiteboard of math equations.

My partner is a sadboi wave producer on Soundcloud. They take streams of channeled information and weave them into spells constructed within the beat of their music. They recently began working on a Red Versus Blue-inspired track that expresses the ideas of a spiritual forge and have been testing out different clanking metal sounds. Very Hephaestus-y. My room mate practices the art of shapeshifting and kinda has her own working paradigm going on. She is an active part of the magician group: DKMU (Domus Khaotica Marauder Underground) whose manifesto it is to reawaken tangible magic in the world. DKMU calls it the “assault on reality”. Personally, I dont care for the term but I do agree with it’s overall goal. However, my household and I believe reality is already pretty magical and surreal…it’s just a matter of bringing to visible awareness/coaxing it to the surface. To the person who recently suggested DKMU to me during the May 15th ritual event, surprise surprise! It was DKMU all along!

Which brings me to the topic of this post: last night we went “glamourbombing”.

What is “glamourbombing”? Basically you hide magickal objects, spell instructions, weird messages, or empowered sigils around your city or town for people to find. When a person finds it, it creates a circumstance where said person is approached by magic, and given an invitation to participate in it by virtue of finding it. It’s basically the equivalent of hiding Hogwarts letters all around. We hide them well enough to where a person has to be just a little curious about their physical surroundings to come upon them-so by virtue of that curiousity, the invitation was meant for them.

My room mate and I hit up a bunch of public parks last night and began hiding these little glass beads with sigils (the LS sigil which, in the DKMU paradigm, helps initiate seekers into finding their own path to magic) and red-letter invitations all around. There was this one park we found that had a particularly spooky vibe. Another park had thriving patches of flowering white clover all around and I could SENSE the Fey activity there! I gotta go back there some time soon.

We finished our job somewhere around 3 a.m. and made it back to the house where I passed out soon afterwards. But I woke up this morning feeling a little happier than yesterday musing over how many people might find those sigilized beads and letters and be inspired, even just a little, to opening up their intuition or doing their first spell…

But there’s this website called AtlasObscura.com where you can literally put in ur zip code or ur city or ur state and it’ll literally show you a map and list of a bunch big super cool interesting sometimes spooky things in ur area!!!

Like if you’re into crypts and catacombs and history and legends and unusual attractions….this is ur best bet

So one of the most common things I see on my Mead posts is “I’d love to do that, but I don’t have the stuff”

We’ll sit down and buckle up. Because I’m about to show you how to make a $12.56 traditional mead.

Here’s the recipe:

1 gallon Deer Park/spring water. You don’t want distilled.

3 lb or 32 fluid ounces honey.

One package of yeast.

a party balloon.

The cost total is $13.49, but you only need one pack of yeast. So -$0.90.

Let’s begin:

Everything together on a clean work surface, you will need a clean glass. And while not entirely necessary, a measuring cup will be handy.

Pour a cup of water for yourself and drink it. Hydration is important. Also this will allow you headspace.

Remove about ehhhhh, a quart or so of water to drink later.

Trust me. You’re going to want it

You have two options for yeast, that bread yeast we bought, or professional brewer’s yeast.

They’re both the same price. You can get brewers yeast off of Amazon.

I already have brewer’s yeast, so I’m using brewer’s yeast

Stick that in that honey water.

Stick your honey in some hot water.

Go outside. Breath the free air. Know what it is… To truely live.

Enough of that bitch. Honey’s hot. Put it in the water.

Put the water in the honey too.

Shake the sin out of it.

Shake the sh*t outta it.

Hydrate yourself with the water you removed earlier.

Shank a balloon with a pin.

Add your yeasty honey water.

Balloon it.

Label it.

If your trad mead says anything racist, or anything positive about Hitler. Straighten that sh*t out.

And there you go. $12 (.56) traditional mead. Stick it somewhere dark and leave it alone for a while.

when i was little i could almost inerringly switch back to disney channel right as the ads ended when i was channel surfing.

maybe youve never accidentally crushed a ladybug underfoot. maybe your microwave popcorn never burns. maybe you can spin around lots and lots of times before you get dizzy.

is that magic??

I have a coworker who somehow makes better coffee than everyone else even though the grounds come pre-measured and all you have to do is load them up and push a button.  I have a friend who has inch long nails that never break.  My brother can copy origami just by looking at the finished product and my mother can do the same with knots.  I knew a guy who never made an error when typing.

Take another step with this. Before burning it, reread the letter and for every item, every point you make - ask yourself, can I truly release this, or is there something from them I still want?

Then … dig. If there’s something you still want from them, there’s a need in your soul to be met.

I want an apology. Because I want acknowledgement that they realized they hurt me. Because I want it to matter to them that they hurt me. I want to matter to them. I want to matter.

This just being an example, but the idea is to find the root feeling and then you’ve got something to actually work on, which is finding a way to fill that void WITHOUT them. In the example up there, it could be building yourself intrinsic reward pathways, finding ways to love yourself enough that you don’t need external validation.

i picked philosphy as minor this semester and there are several “soon to be priests” who need to study philosophy before theology. to make it ven funnier it’s only me and other 5 women, all the other 40 are men priests.

on a rainy thursday (would you look at that coincidence) i got my pagan ass to class (heh) and i noticed some of them gave me weird looks because of my mjöllnir and my “””in your face””” pagan tshirt, so they started asking me why i was defying cristians with those accessories, in a catholic university and being probably baptized as christian when a baby. 

i just let them talk and heard a lot about how wrong i was converting to an “unexistent” and “primitive” religion when i shit you not a thunder hit the building next to ours and almost got everyone deaf. i got startled but i tried to keep my cool to scare them off and i said in my morgan freeman sort of voice “don’t you call my gods false”.

Ever since I saw this tin at the thrift store, I knew it had to become a “Swim Through My Dreams” tin. As I often work with water and moon magic, most of the items in this tin have association with one or the other or both and most of the flowers and herbs came from my garden or my parents’ garden. Correspondences are based on my previous researches and my intuition and experiences with the plants/crystals/shells themselves.

I plan to charge this under the moonlight and then tuck the tin into one of the drawers of my bedside stand.

The terms “seiðr”, “spá”, and “galdr” are a few of the terms that get thrown around when discussing Norse magic. What do all of these words mean?

For starters, “seiðr”, “spá”, and “galdr” are not different words for the same type of practice. While these can all fit together, and usually those that do one often do the other, they each hold individual roles in Norse magic.

Seiðr

Seiðr, at its basic form, is trance induced magic that can be done while soul traveling the nine worlds. You can alter your destiny or even affect the destiny of others. If you are familiar with chaos magic, seiðr is like a school of shamanistic chaos magic (for example you can control your reality through actions done in trance work instead of through sigils). You can make use of energy work and heal yourself or others, alter someone’s opinion, thoughts, or actions concerning a certain situation, and even commune with the gods themselves and act as a channel for them to speak through. There is so much more concerning seiðr that can’t be covered in this paragraph, but will be expanded upon in future entries.

Spá

Spá or spá-craft is the art of seeing one’s fate. Just like the work of a seer, a spákona or spámaðr is able to tap into the threads of one’s fate, seeing what is to come or what they and their ancestors have experienced in the past.

Galdr

Galdr, meaning “incantation”, is the practice that uses the chants or songs of runes when practicing runic magic. Since you are working with focused vibrational energy, the practice of galdr can be extremely powerful when used properly.

While these are tremendously simplified descriptions of tremendously complex practices, it’s a good jumping off point for the different articles I’m going to write that will further explain them in detail. In future entries, I’ll start with discussing the foundations of seiðr and sharing ways in which you can start learning how to utilize it in your practice. Eventually, I will have articles concerning spá-craft and galdr. I look forward to sharing what I’ve experienced with everyone!

Simple things you can do to bring more love and positivity into the world:

enchant the bus or train you’re on, so that everybody has a pleasant day or a safe travel home

paint protective sigils in the misty windows of buses or shops when it rains, and leave words of encouragement and praise on public bathrooms’ mirrors

bless passing ambulances and firefighter trucks with speed and safety for their patients/destination

wear an enchanted lipstick/gloss for your smile to brighten the day of everybody you meet

enchant your spare change so that it gives luck to the beggars you donate it to; they need it, don’t they?

actually, just enchant your money, so that retail and low-wage workers can have a better day when they serve you

leave blessed acorns and harmless trinkets in various places like buses or waiting rooms; give other people something to wonder about and make their day, and kids an item to roll in their hands mindlessly

bless food and leave it for stray animals; let birds be messangers of hope and miraclous event for everybody that sees them

whisper encouragement to trees and grass you pass by; let them know someone cares, someone sees their beauty, and awaits their bloom

smile at children and pets; provide them with the positive energy that the world is trying to kill in them

A spell to invoke the Switch Word “Divine.” When this Switch Word is used, it requests the universe to bring you a miracle. Think about what would constitute a miracle as you cast this spell.
