hotd is soooooooooooooo good when its good. highest of highs. and then it will randomly be soooooooo stupid and bad. and then it will be soooo good again and you will almost forget that it just did something stupid. but then it will do something stupid again and you go ohhh. yes thats hotd

saw someone say hotd was gender essentialist which. doesn’t enter my mind because we see very clearly characters being groomed into their assigned gender, especially this season where we see daeron and ormund paralleling both rhaenyra groomed into the throne by daemon (becoming ‘king’ rather than a prince(ss)) and alicent being groomed by otto into viserys’ wife - the queen. (also very interesting that in this case, daeron’s ‘soft’ parenting figure is gwayne). helaena is also questioning alicent’s own grooming of her as queen by marrying her to aegon. idk i think the show is very clear in what it’s saying about this dynastic power and gender and it’s not that it’s inherent to a person
