Many times when people talk about healing or telling you to heal from something are they are speaking of the suppression of emotions. When you venture into introspective thoughts and describe the emotions, go into detail of how you feel, why you feel that is the starting process of healing, what are the other variables to the process though?
I recognize to ignore the feelings and not mention them at all is usually when these areas of emotion build up and cause other areas in life to be affected. To avoid trouble, frustrations and problems for the sake of feeling strong is the greatest weakness as there is not practice to not kashi g out when triggered. As long as you ignore them once forcibly acknowledged you will be torn by the pain you seemed to shroud, you will react irrationally verbally or non-verbally.
As a man I realize it is best to experience the emotion than to suppress it. In my youth most of my mischievous, criminal and mentacide mentality was due to the supression of emotions that led to depression. Thinking if I processed them it made me weak or if vocal about them would make the situation void of change.
I sit with these things and speak about them more than ever because the act of speaking it is letting it out. Some times writing it down and balling it up and Kobe-ing that thing in the can.
Even now speaking to people when they ask me what's wrong or how the feels are is very courageous compared to my former mentality even now I try not to be concerned if someone thinks I'm soft or sweet. I am often times hurt by others remarks and stay to myself. Most of the time I try to speak up..If ionno you fr I stay quiet but given someone access is a very intimate and valued connection. If someone does approach it wrong I think to myself if I conveyed my feelings wrong or if I opened a complex bag of emotion to someone who doesn't see the complexities as I do. some say hardship of life is just what it is and to point it out is complaining or reduce the discomfort of emotions by stating what all you have but materialism does not offer emotion support and motivation. We as people are social beings and we are naturally effected by what others do, think, believe and say. There are perimeters but overall we are looking for our tribe, a group that cares, offers motivating advice and engaged in principled unity through the act of collective work and responsibility.
I only seek to use knowledge and wisdom to gain understandings so I'm only conflicted if it misses.
