SOLVEIG  E.  BATTEY  ,  known in paradise as  LOVEJOY  ,  is the youngest and last child of  AMANITA  S.  BATTEY  (  known in paradise as  BOREALIS  )  ,  and the twin sister of  NOX  L.  BATTEY  (  same name in paradise  )  ,  and half sister to  AMANPAL  V.  BATTEY  (    LUHMAN   ).  due to her mother’s defection to earth  ,  solveig  ,  along with her siblings  ,  were born into exile on earth  ,  and are themselves considered defectors.  like most seraphs  ,  the batteys have ethereal abilities  -  including healing  , limited immortality  (  as long as the heart is not brutally damaged or the soul is not taken away )  ,  resurrection of others  ,  control over some celestial phenomena  ,  as well as more common magic such as curses  ,  hexes  ,  and potions.  however  ,  solveig had abilities that diverged from typical seraphs  ,  and lacked others.  starting at the age of five  ,  she had constant nightmares and unwillingly spoke things she didn’t understand.  due to this  ,  and the seraphs harsh view on anything less than what they see as perfection  ,  solveig was considered an outsider and defective to her own family  ,  and at age eight  ,  was sent away to live with other defectors in louisiana  ,  while her brothers were trained and separated as well. 

from the ages of eight to sixteen  ,  solveig had no contact with her mother or brothers.  while living with the other defectors (her “aunts”), they quickly realized her nightmares and nonsensical speakings were prophecies  ,  and they could exploit her abilities to their advantage.  during this time  ,  solveig went heavy mental, emotional, and physical abuse, and was locked up in her room almost always  -  unless she was getting her schooling.  during the later part of her 16th year ,  she was taken from her aunts by an embodiment  ,  named maelina  ,  who took care of her; marci began college  ,  and her nightmares/prophecies lessened until they were almost completely gone, except for rare occasions. 

ages seventeen through nineteen  ,  amanpal reached out and began to form the familial relationship with solveig he never had before  ,  though his intentions were not good and purely for the sake of taking her powers  ,  given the chance. at age nineteen, she graduated college. the night before her twentieth birthday  ,  she was brutally murdered by amanpal. 

there are worse fates.

PARADISE  ,  also known as the celestial realm,  and officially known as the paradisiacal sanctuary  ,  is the world in which all spacial beings (also known as celestial beings/entities, and most commonly SERAPHS) are of origin.  there are three types/”species” of celestial beings - luxans, luminars, and empyreans (but more on these later). each variant of being has a section of the world they live in - which, in itself, is just a large main island and a couple of small islands set offcast. the world itself has three main biomes, if you want to call them that.  there’s a large beach and a couple of islands off the mainland - going back inward on the mainlaind, there’s a large forest that spreads for miles and miles, with lots of creeks and rivers and lakes through and woven in, as well as smaller mountains. finally, on the other end of the island, there’s large ravines and mountains - where it always snows and is generally colder than the other two environments. the empyreans live on the beach and small islands, the luminars live in the forest, and the luxans live in the ravines and mountains. 

the world itself is, of course, strange and otherworldly. creatures found in paradise are humanoid, but... not. for example, deer are upwards of nine feet, and have three to six eyes; owls are almost see through - tinted blue and looking more like ghosts than anything, and so on, and so on. all animals, however, live forever and live in harmony, without hunting each other. the animals are also friendly, and most celestial beings have them for companions in some way or another. most trees in paradise resemble close to birch trees - however, they’re larger and the color of the leaves are all ranges of shades of blue, from a robin egg color to a deep navy, varying from tree to tree; shrubbery and flowers tend to glow faintly, and are found in colors that are typically not associated with “normal” flowers or shrubbery, such as soft pinks or purples, blues, etc. the water varies appears to be shimmering gold, with specks of silver found within the water. the beach’s sand appears to be a deep black, like lava rock. the sky has many auroras, with some even touching the ground. there’s a lot of stars in the sky - the world has three moons, and two suns. there are planets visible from paradise, but none of the beings have any reason to want to figure out which planets they can see. the world is encircled by a ring, like a ring from saturn - but it’s a faint and soft yellow, almost eggshell colored.
