Fish Tanks

So I moved the breeding pair to their own little tank, and I've heard croaking and seen courting behaviour, but no fry as of yet

And then I see a chilli rasbora acting weird in the community tank and surprise! Sparkling gourami fry!

There are plants in the back right half that have yet to grow in, but which should cover the heater soon.

My first scale where I went heavy with rocks and moved away from my usual tannin-heavy tanks.

Really liking the Cyprus helferi (?) I think it might become a staple in my plant selections.

Stocking is 5 out of 7 Javanese rice fish and 10 out of 11 somphong's rasbora, the remaining numbers proved more difficult to catch. I'll try again soon.

Might move my dwarf kuhlis over to this tank too, theyre a bit too much activity in the tank at the head of my bed.

I managed to get 11 (ordered 12 but had one DOA)

They're tiny relations of the better-known trigonostigma heteromorpha (harlequin rasbora), t espei and t hengeli.

They're rare in the UK hobby trade, so I'm glad I got them

They're currently in with pangio cuneovirgata, which are a dwarf kuhlis loach, as well as some chilli rasboras and sparkling gourami

I think I might move the loaches and these rasboras over to a different tank with my Javanese rice fish (oryzias javanicus)

And just bump up the chillis in this tank, mayyyybe add some clown killies and a couple nice nerite snails at the bottom.

The loaches have arrived!

I've never had crypt melt this bad. I'm trying to grit my teeth until it starts regrowing ;_;

But, these chilli rasbora (some of them are phoenix rasbora, shh) look laser red when they catch the light, truly gorgeous little nano fish

Never had as big a problem with crypt melt as in this tank. Just gritting my teeth through it until they start to grow back in ;_;

The chilli rasboras (there are some phoenix rasbora in there too, shh) look amazing when the light catches them, they glow laser red, gorgeous little nano fish.

Finally moved 10 of my chilli rasbora over to the 14 gal, with as many of the yellow shrimps as I could catch

It's getting there

The limnophilia you can kinda see peeking up behind the decor on the LHS has already grown since planting it a few days ago, hoping it'll be all tall and fill that corner in.

I moved some plants around, removed some because they were choking out the wood, and I think the eventual habrosus cories will appreciate the space

I'm busy busy busy, but plans are to eventually transfer over the chillis 5 gal filter, plus the yellow shrimp and the chilli rasbora themselves

I'm planning some kind of top dweller (rocket killies, hockeystick pencilfish or pygmy hatchetfish) so the frogbit will be useful, but I don't like the way it shades out the plants so much.

Most of them are crypts, but still.
