I bet Bilbo has the best pocket snacks. Now I need to think of whatever the hobbit equivalent of party chex mix is…speaking of, imagine if they have whacky names for it too, like the “better than sex chex mix”. And he says it super casually. Because that’s just what it’s called. Also what if it wasn’t really considered impolite among hobbits to snack during formal discussions. Not to be confused with dining on a full plate, or spooning a messy custard that’d slop up your tongue. No, no. That’d just be rude...But nibbling on lil cake or pastry? Nuts and berries? Maybe some cheese and crackers.

Imagine they’re in the middle of court and amongst a debate you just hear a solid cronch, and it’s just Bilbo, looking very serious, eating a butterscotch haystack he pulled from his pocket. Thorin maybe being confused the first time, but never says anything bc that’s His Hobbit and he shall eat when he wants to eat, but he also sees how much it irks or confuses others and finds it very amusing, knowing they can’t say anything. Someone turns to say something, and their heat is just immediately killed when met with a blank, serial killer stare from Thorin.
