I was getting ready to go out on a "surprise hang out" with a guy much older than me. He was a friend of my friend and I knew that he was into her, so I didnt think much would be happening this day. I wore my usual casual emo attire, and was putting on finishing touches when I got his text "im here." As I begin to walk out my mother stops me, and asks that I bring him inside first.

"Well, I'm fucked." I thought. I just knew she would send him away upon realizing his age.. He comes in, nervous as he should be, avoids my eyes and talks only to her. She asked some normal questions at first, and he answered all of them seemingly honestly. I dont know him well enough to know if hes lying. Then she asked to see that he did have a drivers license. This is where I almost began to remove my shoes.

She looked at his drivers license thoroughly. And after a few moments said, "Okay. Have fun." And handed it back to him.

She didn't give me a curfew. She didnt even give me a look.

At the time, of course, I was shocked but relieved and we left immediately -before she could take it back. But thinking of it now?

She literally handed her 15 year old daughter off to a 22 year old man that she did not know, to go off into the sunset to an unknown location.
