A CRAWLING START AND SMALL PERFUMERY RAMBLINGS
"Hi! Informal introduction here. I started Feral Mourning as a lighthearted creative outlet for my love of strange perfume and all of my artistic hobbies. A place to bottle everything that actually inspires me, like atmospheric scents, handmade oddities, photography, and whatever rabbit hole Iβm actively falling down.
Many months ago I became tired and honestly disappointed with a lot of the same mass-appealing profiles in many modern fragrances (how original, right?), which led to beginning this perfumery side quest and curating my own collection of nostalgic, evocative scents that smell like my favorite strange and dark places, people and animals of times past, forgotten memories, and the things that connect to my very core, such as nature, horror movies, death metal, video games, food, bug-keeping, alternative scenes, and anything unapologetically weird. A multimedia project, where everything from the art, formulas, and curation are all done by hand, by yours truly.
I blend high-end botanical oils and absolutes, house-made extracts, and carefully chosen aroma chemicals to create atmospheric, abstract, spooky, gourmand, and sometimes straight-up unsettling profiles. Embracing imperfection and appreciating the charm of colorful, sometimes murky, skin staining, alternative style perfumes.
Starting small and offering a limited amount of two fragrance profiles plus a prototype sample listing in my shop at Mayhem Marketplace, with many more to come. Stay tuned and come say hi if any of this sounds interesting to you.

On this day a year ago, I was finishing up Nephila, a dark and woody ritualistic patchouli with an XL vertical soil accord. (I've since archived/deleted posts to avoid note confusion and have a more realistic approach to documentation.) During the summer last year, I started Althaea, Joywell, Possum, Fallows, and Dolome in the later months (July-November) and have since finished Althaea and, very recently, Possum. I've started a Mayhem Marketplace shop very recently to share my work.
I now have numerous projects im working on and am looking forward to progressing and finishing them up for you.
Here are a few pictures and comments from Neph's childhood lol.
Obviously, ink on glass was ridiculously difficult, and horribly inconsistent, and while I love the dymo labels personally, the printer would often jam, and is currently glued together, so for sake of consistency, the new labels are printed (hallelujah).
My kukulcania, Juniper, bottom left, "..put some juniper needle oil in the next test..."
The current batch is available on my site, with a revision on the way later this year, not a huge change coming, just some structure changes (tweaks on the patchoulis, less pine, more soil on the drydown, more amber on the drydown, incense tweak, slightly less smoke) but it will be very much the same profile.
I'd love to make some "lore" posts on each profiles formulation history, as well as a Feral Mourning DNA/Material "primordial soup" blog post in the future. If this interests you, let me know.

Below are a few little updates.
Althaea promo, pictured
Althaea! A vast opposition to my dark and dirty projects and an early answer to my friends telling me to make a vanilla. A labor of love towards soft vanilla's, ghosts, and antique collecting. Admittedly, it is a lighter blend, but it still highlights some rich and "fancy" notes like Orris resinoid absolute and ambrette seed co2.
Hesperus, currently.
.
I will be releasing Possum into the wild on a random day soon enough, with a planned release of Joywell and a far darker profile, Hesperus, this autumn.
