A little bit about me!
Hi there! Iâm Selkie, an eclectic chaos witch with a love for Celtic practices and magick. Iâve been practicing witchcraft for about 6 years now and working with deities for about 4 years now. My matron deity and soul mother is An MorrĂgan, and I have had the privilege of working with her since the beginning of my deity work journey. I am also devoted to Lugh, who is my patron deity, and Cernunnos, who is very dear to me as well. These are my three primary deities but I have worked with many others and hope to honor them all through my shop offerings and my spiritual work. I am also a tarot reader and have been reading for about 6 total years now. It is my goal to help preserve and improve the bonds between humans and the gods and to help connect people to their spiritual power and their spirit teams through candle magick and spell work- and eventually tarot readings. A little bit about me: I am a Taurus sun, Capricorn moon, and a Libra rising. I am based out of sunny Southern California and have a full time job where I work in the horticulture industry and get to talk about plants and bugs every day- something I for which I am incredibly grateful.Â
For anyone interested, my name comes from the Celtic (primarily Scottish but also Irish) myth of the Selkie- shapeshifting beings who take the form of a seal when in water and can shed their skin to become a human. Selkies, while sometimes associated with love since many of their myths involve a human falling in love with a Selkie, represent so much more than that. They represent rebelling against a forced role you do not fit, choosing freedom over forced duty, rediscovering your true self, and embracing your true wild nature. To me, they represent a sense of freedom and a realization that you will always be happiest where you truly belong and that sometimes you have to make hard choices and put yourself first to find your greatest joy.
