U - Three favorite characters from three different fandoms, and why they’re your favorites.

Jin Xuan: the mausoleum dilemma is so fascinating, and has the potential to affect him particularly strongly as the closest companion of the emperor he's decreed to guard—being forced to stay by the side of the corpse of the man he spent so much of his life with. But by trying to avoid that fate...he hurts his relationships with the ones who would have shared it with him, until he's the only one left who would bear it. Just... the angst, the tragedy is so delicious. I love writing him and drawing him and aaaaaaaaa 💜

Gao Zhan: I love his interactions with his emperor. He's smart and amusing and adorable

Wuchang Gui: Fabulous design, wonderful voice. The facial expressions, the hand motions... he's always a delight to watch 💚

P - Invent a random AU for any fandom (we always need more ideas).

For a very random AU, here’s this silly idea:

The Dragon Seal Scroll rushed from the Grand Eunuch's hands, landing in Xiao Ruofeng's. He opened it, finding the last thing he would have expected: The throne shall be given to the Fourteenth Prince, Xiao Yueli.

Some potential ideas for the grim reapers' first few days in the valley:

-Hei Wuchang barely sleeps, keeping watch to protect his brother

-Bai Wuchang cries himself to sleep because he's terrified of the other ghosts, but begins to feel safe in his brother's embrace

-one day, on one of the occasions that Hei Wuchang can't stay awake any longer, another ghost finds their sleeping spot and tries to kill them

-Bai Wuchang kills the ghost (perhaps with Wuchang Gui's help?). Anyways, Wuchang Gui saw what happened and offers them a place as his subordinates

K - What character has your favorite development arc/the best development arc?

I'm not sure if this would necessarily be classified as a development arc, but the only arc I can think of right now is Jin Xuan's. It's subtle, but there's so much delicious tragedy to chew on and I love thinking about it. There's one major thing out of his control, and his efforts to change that make everything else worse for him. In one way or another, he loses his relationships with the other eunuchs. While they either die because of their loyalty and determination or live and gain their freedom, Jin Xuan remains bound to his fate. Then, in his last attempt to escape that path, he walks into a trap set by the one person who cared about him after everything he did.

Also, I was just thinking of the inverse parallels between Baili Dongjun's "Act with your heart" and novel Jin Xuan's "Who does anything with all of his heart?" and then I realized, at the end of their arcs, while Jin Xuan tries to avoid his decreed fate of guarding his dead emperor, Baili Dongjun chooses to guard Mo Yi while he sleeps--which Jin Xuan was willing to do for his emperor while he lived. And there's also some parallels I'm thinking about between Xiao Ruojin and Mo Yi now too. I mean, their dead siblings and their obsessions with their deaths...
