âMany years ago, I went to art school and got my first job as a graphic designer, and it was at a stockbrokers, I was in there to do magazines and portfolios.
On the first day, they called me in and this boy who was the same age as me, 19 or 20, and he had no experience in graphic design. There were two jobs, one to be a graphic designer, and one for an accountancy/admin job. Â
They swapped me and him round as it was an all male environment with the graphic designers and they didnât feel comfortable with a woman. I got this admin job, and they trained him in graphic design as he had no experience.
Iâm an older lady. Iâve got 2 women who donât take any shit from men at all. I am equal to men, and I should be viewed in that way. We should have every possibility to be able to do what they do, and it hasnât happened yet. I want to do everything in my life and my family life that I can to make that happen.â
