SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — The Sangamon County State's Attorney released body camera footage Monday showing the events leading up to the shooting of Springfield woman Sonya Massey shortly after a 911 call.

The release of the video had been postponed at the request of Massey's family, but was finally released this afternoon. The footage can be seen below. Some images have been blurred by police. Massey was shot and killed by Sangamon County Sheriff's deputy Sean Grayson on July 6 after she called 911 herself to report a possible prowler at her home just before 1 a.m. At 1:21 a.m., deputies reported shots had been fired. Two deputies were at Massey's home responding to the 911 call. One deputy turned on his body-worn camera when they first arrived on scene, but Grayson only activated his camera after shooting Massey. Prosecutors alleged that Grayson ordered Massey to move a pot of water heating on the stove to the counter. Grayson then “aggressively yelled” at Massey over the pot and pulled his 9 mm pistol. Massey then put her hands in the air, declared “I'm sorry” and ducked for cover before being shot in the face. Grayson also discouraged the other deputy from getting his medical kit, prosecutors said.

This afternoon, horrific bodycam footage of the police killing of Sonya Massey by Sean Grayson in her own home in Springfield, IL was released.

Take being trans out of the occasion, it’s a common belief that women making fun of male tears or tiny dicks is on the same level as men literally killing and raping women: misandry vs misogyny.

I’ll never forget in Contrapoint’s JK Rowling “takedown” video, all of the “evidence” he had about how evil terfs were was… schoolyard insults. He pulled quotes of different women making fun of male pattern baldness, of stubble poking through foundation. I was like… how is this not identical to Andrew Tate MRAs screaming about how evil women are and how terrible misandry is and just pulling up jokes about male appearances?

Like before you label anyone as a bigot or oppressor, can you do 5 seconds of research and find any evidence of the claim? Women laughing at you is not violence lmao, no matter how much it hurts your feelings

2. If you had actually watched the video you'd know Contrapoints' actual argument was that TERFs are oppressive because they are politically reactionary, not because they're mean. In fact, a major point of the video was that the threat of bigotry is not hurt feelings, but political goals. Were you asleep for half the video? Janice Raymond's The Transsexual Empire was quoted and criticized, not because it's mean, but because she had stated goals of "morally mandating transsexualism out of existence".

3. Furthermore, she literally ends the video saying that the ultimate enemies are not terfs but right wingers and cis men.

many people don't seem to know this, but a mental disorder is NOT based on symptoms alone, it's based on how much the symptoms actually impair you in daily life. most people could look at a list of mental disorder symptoms and identify either themselves or someone else with them. as far as a narcissistic personality, we all know people who appear more self absorbed than others, but this is typically subclinical narcissism (presence of narcissistic traits without significant impairment of functioning) which is not a disorder. there is also a misunderstanding of what npd is. a narcissist is not a supervillain invincible to emotion. npd is a defensive reaction to trauma that lead to deep insecurity and fear of being seen as weak or vulnerable. so narcissists aren't actually "in love with themselves" at all and often are diagnosed when seeking help for other issues such as substance abuse resulting from their struggles.

Meaning that a woman’s femininity and womanhood is not contingent upon the extent to which she buys and performs a time-consuming, expensive, uncomfortable mold of a very specific type of packaged femininity.
