"last chance to back out." he turns towards you with a raised brow. you notice the slight trace of worry in his eyes, knowing that he's scared of making you uncomfortable. you pursue your lips together, not getting the chance to say anything, only squeezing his hand reassuringly before the door in front of you swings open. the first thing that catches your attention is the strong artificial smell of flowers coming from inside.

felix scrunches his nose up, your heart skipping a beat at the adorable sight. "did rachel burn those awful candles again?" he sighs as he remembers his sisters new obsession with yankee candles. "uh.. is everything okay?" he questions his mom, who's currently staring at you two with wide eyes. you feel your heart hammer in your chest as the tips of your ears turn a bright shade of red.

"finally!" she screeches in excitement, rushing back inside, to tell your own parents you assume, and leaves you two at the door.

felix winces at the loud noise. "okay, maybe pretending to date wasn't such a good idea after all."

you give him the most reassuring smile you can muster, squeezing his hand again. "its fine. we'll pretend for a while and then tell them we broke up because it just didn't work out, or something like that." felix nods.

"plus, its not like we're actually in love with each other." you add, fixing your hair.

"listen, spider boy, your forehead is practically gushing blood, if you won't let me take you to the hospital at least let me treat you properly. now take that stupid mask off so i can see how bad the wound is." you pursue your lips, narrowing your eyes at him.

the boy in front of you sighs, his chest, clad in red and blue fabric, heaving. you see him hesitate once more as he brings his hands closer to his face, fingers barely brushing over the fabric. he hisses lightly as the mask brushes over the bigger and smaller wounds on his face, running a hand trough his disheveled blond hair once its off.

you feel your breath get knocked out of your lungs when you see 2 familiar eyes looking back at you. "wha- felix?!"
