Joshua LaRock’s “Tracking” at Maxwell Alexander Gallery.

Opening on September 18th, 2021 at Maxwell Alexander Gallery in Los Angeles, California is artist Joshua LaRock’s solo exhibition, “Tracking.”

LaRock’s latest body of work dives deeper into his desert travels with highlights from masters of the past.  The “Tracking” solo exhibition will feature 10 new oils ranging in size from small to large. LaRock’s ability to paint the human form is among the best of painters focusing on Western subjects today.  The artist is influenced by the “old masters,” such as William-Adolphe Bouguereau and Thomas Moran. LaRock, a classically trained artist, is able to translate that old world mastery into current subjects. In “The Tracker,” LaRock features a modern day cowboy set against a backdrop influenced by the early explorations of Thomas Moran.  LaRock works in many thin layers of paint, drawing on his formal study to accurately portray figures in the rugged American landscape.

I completed a dirt path which can be used either as an overlay for the official paths or just as patterns to lay down on the ground. You can download the patterns by looking up my Creator ID (MA-7376-5758-0005) or by downloading them individually from this album. Additionally, I’m including some notes below for what I’d recommend based on what you’re planning to do.

If you intend to use these as an overlay for the official paths feature in the game, you can use Dirt Path C Clear v1 and v2 in addition to the edges (Dirt Path L, Dirt Path R, Dirt Path TC, and Dirt Path BC).

If you intend to use these independently of the path feature as seen in my forest image, you’ll need all of them if you want diagonals.

You know what I find really hurtful about Solavellan? That fact that when Lavellan reaches out to him in sadness, he wards her off as though his life depends on it.

Even when she is no longer reaching for him, he is guarding himself against her sadness.

But he does nothing to guard himself from her anger.

The most he does is windmill his arms the very first time she shoves him, and after that he just sticks a leg out to brace himself. But he allows her to shove him. Again and again.

He takes her physical attack with nothing but a sad expression.

But her sadness causes him to put up a panicked guard.
