just a liddol observation but if I upload fanart, my notes are filled with people excited about me just having drawn their fav chara, sharing fun experiences, and yelling about how much they love them. if I upload art of my own characters, my notes are filled with people openly talking about taken them for their DnD campaigns, claiming them as their own, and outright stating they wish this would have been something else cause the art is too good to be wasted on someones OCs (yes, this happened).

Why is it everyone that sets out to rip off the Souls series fails to include any of the goofiness? Grim as the world of Dark Souls is, it can also at times be completely ridiculous. It's got mimic chests that attack you with fucking Street Fighter hurricane kicks and giant bulging bobble eyed basilisks and whatever the hell Frampt and Kaathe are supposed to be. There's a reason these games are such a rich goldmine of memes.

Even in a dead world devoid of hope there is silliness and whimsy.

#if i hadn't seen frampt in a speedrun i'd have never cared about dark souls at all #because for years everyone who tried to get me to play these games #1. insulted other things i liked in order to hype dark souls up #and 2. only ever described it as 'epic' 'badass' and 'only for hardcore gamers'#which is a combination of the worst words ever #literally the second i saw frampt i went. this is weird and deliberate and i need to know more about this.#fukken sgdq changing lifes #gif
