âTo reach things on high shelves,â she deadpanned, before giggling at the nose boop. âI mean, maybe. You could just be sick,â she pointed out, and shrugged. âIâm just saying, itâs different behaviour than usual. So you either really like him, or heâs your best friend, in which case I will fight Ollie,â she said fiercely.  Jasmineâs bottom lip trembled again at his little outburst but she took in a deep breath to calm down. She really hated mood swings. âYeah, twins,â she said softly. She smiled sheepishly, blushing when Felix talked about Rossâs sperm. âUm - yeah, itâs⌠I donât know, I guess itâll fit. My tummy will stretch or whatever⌠Dad wants me to get a c-section, heâs worried that my hips wonât be wide enough. But the doctor hasnât said anything yet, so⌠so I think⌠I think I want to do a natural birth,â she said gently, knowing he wouldnât take well to that. âI mean, popping two kids out is just the same as popping out one kid, right? Iâd already be in maximum pain, it just means the pain lasts a little longer. But twins also mean that all my symptoms are gonna be worse, s-so Iâm gonna be extra emotional, and my morning sickness is worse and Iâm gonna start sleeping more⌠I donât know, itâs scary. But⌠But Iâm excited. Two babies! That means theyâll always have a best friend,â she said, eyes shining. Jas wrinkled her nose. âI donât want a boob job. I want my boobies.â Jas laughed a bit and shook her head, smooth his hair with her fingers in a surprisingly motherly gesture. âYou know youâre not broken. That shuld be whatâs important, regardless of what sheâs doing. But just remember that⌠that sheâs coming from a good place. Sheâs doing this because she cares about you, even if her methods are a bit stifling. You keep being you and sheâll come around and realise how awesome you are. Besides⌠Being pregnant gives you all kinds of weirdly maternal urges. Seriously. Itâs like, I see a baby, and suddenly itâs the cutest frickinâ thing Iâve ever seen in my whole damn life. Try to stick it out, okay? For me?â She gave hi the puppy dog eyes.
âYou know, I can always put things on the high shelves on purpose,â he stated with a smirk and then rolled his eyes. âYou realise itâs more impossible to fight Ollie than to lie to your dad? Heâs just too sweet and innocent to fight, youâd immediately cry after youâre done, babe,â Felix laughed and pulled his best friend closer, putting his hand on top of her stomach, stroking it lightly with a thumb. âImagine how funny youâre going to walk⌠WADDLE! Like a cute penguin!â he joked and grinned, looking at Jas. âBack at Dalton we had this teacher who always waddled like a penguin, it was adorable,â he chuckled. âWeâll see what the doctor says on the next visit, okay? I mean, doesnât it depend on how big the babies are going to be?â he asked, sounding really carefully â he didnât need a breakdown right now and he didnât want to show how freaked out he was in front of Jas, but she probably knew anyway. He made a funny face when she touched his hair like a mum would do. âYou know whatâŚ.mum? Thereâs a pile of laundry in my bathroom,â he said, fluttering his eyelashes and smiled sweetly at her. âAlright, alright, Iâll try to be nice to the pregnant gold-digger. I mean itâs still better than my neighbourâs mail order bride, right?âÂ
