It was a nasty habit of his, he supposed. Sneaking up to the pole like this for Christmas cookies and candy canes for Oogie. Normally, he managed just fine. Slip in through the kitchen window, grab a tray of cookies, stuff a pocket full of candy canes, and be on his merry way.. But it seemed that the kitchen door was locked, unfortunately and he’d have to find another way in.
… He’d really not expected to take that that tumble off of the roof into the snow, and the very vocal shout he gave as he fell proved it.
The sound did not go unnoticed inside the workshop where the elves froze halfway through their 'toy-making' and cookie eating to turn their heads and stare blankly. The Yetis were faster on the draw, a couple of large furry bodies making their way toward the door closest to the sound. They were surprisingly well coordinated for being so huge, one of them gripping the handle of the door and unlocking it while the other braced himself to confront their 'intruder'.
They recognised the shock of orange hair half buried in the snow and the one at the door threw his arms up in a gesture of frustration so universal that no words were needed. The other Yeti let out a short breath, raising a hand to cover his eyes for a moment before shaking his head. The two of them glanced at each other, then down at the snow-logged Sam before the first Yeti raised his massive hands in a dismissive gesture. The other one rolled his eyes, leaning down and scooping the stunned Dullahan into his arms and flinging him over one shoulder like a sack of potatoes.
In short order, the Yeti was knocking on North's door, waiting for the Guardian to call him inside before stepping a few inches into the door and depositing Sam unceremoniously on the floor in front of North.
