“2016 truly is fucked up,” GEMA slurred into his drink and winced at the pain that shot through his split lip. Youtube really could throw a punch.
“Yeah,” Youtube said and ordered another beer. “I mean, all those Trump and clown videos? What’s up with that?”
Everytime they met to figure this mess out they would end up in a fight and one of them got hurt. It was usually GEMA because he just couldn’t get what he wanted. YouTube would not spent a single coin on this motherfucker except for the drink afterwards. That’s as far as he would get.
“It’s not just the clowns or Trump, dude, it’s everything.”
GEMA had to be really drunk because he leant into YouTube’s shoulder and moaned like he was in pain. That totally wasn’t thrilling or anything. And that was not why he didn’t mind the fighting. Nope.
“I’m a protector, you know? I protect the rights of artists and so many people are just screwing over the laws like it’s not a big deal. But the words they created are moving the hearts of so many others. Who will protect them if I don’t?”
Now he was clinging to YouTube’s sleeve and almost knocked over his drink. YouTube didn’t know what he was supposed to say. They had talked about this for years, over and over again without any results. So how was this any different?
“But, it doesn’t matter, I guess.”
GEMA looked sad. That was so weird, because GEMA had always been a storm of righteous fury, even though he knew that he couldn’t win the fight. It was… admirable, actually.
“Why doesn’t it matter?” YouTube muttered into his new bottle of beer and tried not to look at GEMA.
“When humanity goes down, then songs and poetry and pretty words won’t be needed anymore. No one cares if the artists get payed or not. And no one cares if the german people can’t even get rickrolled.” GEMA downed the rest of his drink in one go and screwed up his face like he usually did when he entered their room for negotiation. But then it got sad again and he buried his face into his arms that were resting on the bar.
YouTube gaped at him shamelessly while gnawing on the rim of his bottle. Fuck, what was he supposed to do? Cheer him up? HOW?
“Do you,” he swallowed. “Do you want to watch some cat videos?”
GEMA shifted his head to glare up at him with one eye.
“Okay. Vine compilations?”
“No!” GEMA threw up his hands. “Don’t you know? Vine is on their deathbed too! This year is cursed, I’m telling you! And everyone is losing hope! I… “his shoulders slumped. “I give up.”
YouTube breathed in his beer and then started to cough up.
GEMA looked at him with a frown.
“It cannot be over, I… we…” YouTube bit his lip and put down his beer. Then he took GEMA by his shoulders. “Maybe they just need a silver lining. The people, I mean. They can’t give up and you can’t give up either. This year isn’t over yet and maybe we can add something good to this fucked up mess.”
“And what,” GEMA said with that hard glare that sent shivers down his spine. “are we supposed to do?”
“We find a solution. We make this work, we compromise!”
Somehow, in that very moment, YouTube thought this was a great idea. Yeah, they could finally settle this, once and for all. GEMA would smile again then, he would be happy. He would probably never look at YouTube again, but that was something he would give up on. For his happiness.
GEMA looked at him with a considerate look and YouTube made the mistake to let his eyes drop to his lips. GEMA’s eyes widened for a moment and YouTube immediately flushed (if that was even possible), letting go of his shoulders.
“Oh, I see,” GEMA smirked and leaned over until their lips almost touched. “I too believe that we can settle this. Because you are going to pay me, like I always wanted you to.”
“Think about it, the mighty YouTube finally giving in to the small german company that has been a pain in his neck for years. Wow, that’s… really turning me on.”
And then he was jumping into YouTube’s lap, knocking them almost over and YouTube yelped, hands wrapping around him on instinct. Fuck, GEMA definitely kissed like he fought and soon his lips were sore and throbbing with anticipation. But then GEMA was pulling away already, with that ridiculously attractive attitude lighting up in his eyes again.
“You’re going to pay me. I accept sexual favours though.”
YouTube squeaked at that but would forever deny it.
“What… I mean. I… well I would do- I mean-”
“Did you actually run out of words?”
YouTube bit his lip and tightened the grip on GEMA’s hips. This was ridiculous. He had always won their fights, why should he give in to this? GEMA was just this little guy and… and he was sneaking his hands under YouTube’s shirt, what the fuck.
“I mean… the press will want to know what I’m going to pay you.”
“Oh, don’t worry about that. We’ll just tell them that the sum won’t be published. Does that sound good to you?”
GEMA had this lecherous look in his eyes that actually was pretty close to that look they had whenever they beat the shit out of each other. Interesting. Why hadn’t he noticed that before? Or maybe he had? Fuck this, he buried his fingers in GEMA’s hair and pulled him in for another kiss. GEMA just grinned against his lips and let his fingers trail over YouTube’s skin.
“Yes,” YouTube breathed and closed his eyes.
“It’s a shame though,” GEMA whispered between kisses. “I really liked gagging you and your videos.”
