*ahem* rewatching, I also enjoy that the scene where Grace gets his final memory, and it was Carl's goodbye, and he came back to the present with god damn rainbows on his face....
If that wasn't allegory for gay realization i dunno what is buddy.

Audio Drama Sunday - 19 April
Our Wars Have Ended started this week! And I haven’t listened to it yet (because I was reading Plain Bad Heroines instead). I’ll listen to it next week. 💀 John Carpenter Presents Something Wicked — S01: E01. NO BODY EXPECTS THE SPANISH INQUISITION: from the episode title, I was expecting this to be a comedy (because the director of The Thing (1982) is known to be a barrel of laughs, clearly). It’s actually a pretty serious horror apparently inspired by real events. Set in New Orleans, it follows a young historian/tour guide and a grizzled senior investigator as they reluctantly investigate supernatural crimes together. It’s a little like a serious version of Victoriocity.
🌊 Gospels of the Flood — 01. Epistle to the Faithful - 03. Terrible Majesty: this one is interesting, and very other-worldly. It’s a mini-series about a priest in a flooding world, who loses his faith and seeks out the priests he trained with to see if they still believe. On the way he finds a crumbling lighthouse, a very creepy church and various other things. Check the trigger warnings before listening.
👹 @theredactedunit — S1E15: Gnome - S1E16: Don’t Eat the Seeds: yess, Redacted is back! So far Eli has made up one terrible excuse for an aberration (that’s our… toddler), Sloane and Dr Danse are still fighting and Eli has been called an aberrant fruit. Always a good and slightly ominous time with the redacted unit.
💣 Time:Bombs — Pink Mist - Countdown: if it wasn’t for one other podcast, this would have been my favourite audio drama this week. Time:Bombs has foreshadowing, character development and half the cast of Wolf 359! The dialogue was quick and funny and Simon Teller was very cool. If you liked Brooklyn 99 or you want to spend 55 minutes listening to the exploits of a bomb squad on New Year’s Eve (when business is booming), you have to check out Time:Bombs.
🪦 Something’s Amiss at Juniper’s House — The Day I Didn’t See Juniper: Oof, Finley’s still reeling from what happened at Juniper’s house. And things are getting even weirder with Sage! I feel bad for Wyatt, who actually noticed something odd only to get shut down about it.
✝️ Almelem — Episode One: The Baptist - Episode Five: The Beginning: and this is my favourite podcast of the week. Almelem destroyed me. It’s a historical comedy about two con-artists creating a messiah. It’s about people who truly believe in Jesus and people who just want to get rid of the Romans. It’s about friendship and belief and being a better person. It’s perfect for people who are religious (in a theologically spicy way), people who are atheist and people who like Terry Pratchett’s Discworld. Jesus does not have a single line in this. I cried.
Also, if you want more historical fiction podcasts like that, here’s a whole article recommending some.
We also feel bad for Wyatt. But only kinda.

Learning that Something's Amiss At Juniper's House was created like a Goosebumps book, first come up with a title, then make a story about that title, love it.
And ya know what? Something is TOTALLY amiss at her house.
