LITTLE BLUEBIRD.

                               forgettable little bluebird of misfortune.

“ DWOH ! a-aha ! merry gyftmas to you too- “

her words hitch in her beak as she gazes on the gift , taking it gently with her wing from the human’s hand .

she can’t help the sigh that escapes her beak , shaking her head albeit with a smile all the same .

she leans over the couch , staring down at the laying shark , before puckering the end of her beak up and smooching him right on the lips ( or where they should be anyway ? )

Kris made no indication they were paying attention to Berdly’s screams. If anything it was funny to them. They didn’t even care if anyone saw what they were doing. If anything that would make this more funny to behold. But, for the sake of sparing Berdly’s pride a little Kris went to a window and opened it. They did this by kicking it open, they knew this window wasn’t secure.

“We’re going to the woods! Spooky spooky woods…”

They were but, they were going to make use of them to make it to their house without others seeing. Kris knew their way around the woods. They’d snuck through them enough as a child. It was easy for them to disappear…

more squawks of protest erupted from his beak , thrashing in their grip even as it failed to do much of anything . but , that stops when he sees the human walk up to a window and promptly kicking it open like it was nothing .

Will was going to bring up that he already knew, but stopped before he could even mention it. At least it confirmed for him that no one in school knew, saw, or recognized him, even. Which was a little sad, yes, but also fairly comforting. It’s just how the Shark wanted it.  “Um… My, uh, name… It’s, um, y’know… Will. Shark. Will, uh… Shark. You know, like, um… Whale… Y’know… Shark. My, uh, parents thought I was gonna be one. Like, um… Them. But, uh, you know, they already decided the, uh… Name, before… Um…” The Monster trailed off, his voice growing quieter until he altogether stopped. He just realized he was giving away too much information. He looked down at the ground awkwardly. “U-Um. Nevermind. It’s, um… Nice to, uh… Meet you, um. Plume.” And, again, he stood, awkwardly.  “… Ehm.” Part of him wanted to talk about stuff he liked, but… Well, Plume was the smartest kid in school, and also probably a different nerd than he was. The last thing he needed to do was embarrass himself by bringing up a bunch of kids stuff he still likes.

god , and she thought noelle was bad ! ( not that she was bad , or is , she’s a very good friend but ) the way he stammered and stumbled his words before cutting off entirely , it takes her a moment to even process all of what he said .

will was a nice name .

“ so far , it is nice to meet you , as well , will . “

she just stands there for a moment , pondering her next move .

“That’s not-”

Jeez, he was getting loud. If they let things continue this way, no doubt with the two draw attention to themselves. Glancing around, they seemed to finally give in.

“Okay. Okay, just.. stop yelling.”

Sighing, Kris motioned for the other to calm down. After a moment of silence, in which they took the time to gather their thoughts, they finally spoke again.

“Listen, the dream thing— we just went with it, okay? Easier than trying to explain.. literally any of that.”

Sorry, Susie, but it looks like the secret’s out. Pausing again, they still seemed rather conflicted about sharing much of anything. Tucking their hands in their pocket, they continued.

“The place is gone, though, been gone for a bit now.”

his form relents , taking in a deep breath as kris took their moment of silence . they admitted it , now he can finally start getting some answers . eyes narrow as their explanation carries on , analyzing it in his head .

“ then what was it then ? you have all the time to explain it right now , since you seem to know more than you’ve let on . “
