TW: a LOT of ranting, probably lots of grammar errors (English isn’t my first language)
Disclaimer: All the things I will discuss next are my own personal opinion, if you differ in any way I totally encourage it, this is just a headcanon, and I don’t want this to look like I’m throwing shade to anyone who has a different headcanon or views the scene differently. NOW THATS ALL CLEARED OUT, I present to you my insanely long ranting.
So, halfway through this project I’m making, I just wanted to rant about my head cannon about this scene that it’s so popular to draw. So, you guys see this scene:

I mostly see like people using either OC’s or other characters of their liking, but at the few times I’ve seen people make a frisk fanart about it, I always saw how people made frisk traumatized in the “despite everything, it’s still you” frame. And personally, I never saw it quite accurate. Since this quote appears on the pacifist route, I don’t quite see frisk ending up traumatized being a fitting representation, I feel like it would be quite the opposite.
Frisk is shown as a really unexpressive character throughout the whole game, but I do think that there is actually a change in their stand throughout the game. If I were to give them a certain look in the two panels, in the first I’d see them as kinda conflicted, seeing as they had just fallen into the underworld, and the game makes it clear that they do want to go back, and since that quote “despite everything, it’s still you.” Only appears on the pacifist route, I highly doubt frisk ends up ‘traumatized’ as people tend to portray them.
I’m redrawing the scene, and I think by showing it it will be easier to understand what I’m saying lol
ALSOOOO!!!!! As in for the physical representation of them. I feel like first of all, in the first frame, like I said, frisk looks troubled since they had just fallen down, also they look more presentable, in the sense that since they just got there, I represented it with their hair looking combed and, you can’t see it yet bc I haven’t started coloring 😝 but I do plan on making the sweater look more worn if that makes sense? Following, for the second panel, I gave frisk a more lay back expression, since I feel that since the first frame and the second, I feel like this feeling of comfort and some sort of care towards the underworld grew inside of them, so I wanted to portrait this look of a weight lifting off their shoulders, since they no longer feel this uncertainty about being stuck there, rather actually as the game goes on, frisk grows fond of the place and the monsters that live there.
