It doesn’t take Byleth long to notice Linhardt’s similarities to the cats they love so dearly: not only his blatant disinterest in anything that did not directly benefit him or his habit of opening his mouth wide and showing all his teeth when he yawned, but mainly that he had perfected the art of the catnap in more ways that one. He could sneak a nap at any time in any place, but more importantly Byleth had noticed that he had a tendency to look for somewhere warm. Every day as the students entered (if Linhardt even entered in on time, or at all for that matter), Linhardt would silently survey the classroom and then seat himself in the exact spot where the sunshine would stay the longest and shine the brightest. At the peak of the afternoon, the soft sound of his snores would fill the classroom and Byleth would look up to find Linhardt blissfully basking in the sun, fast asleep and without a care in the world.
