[obliviate] hyemi and han
There was no shame in apologising for a wrong inflicted upon another, Hyemi reminded herself as she smoothed down her palms over the folds of her skirt, frowning at herself in the mirror as she caught the nervous action. What to do with her hands - she couldn't cross her arms defensively, certainly, or hold them clasped together like a penitent child. 'But how should I apologise for something I didn't do?' Lips pursed, Hyemi turned her attention to the hamper on her desk instead. It had taken a few days to put it together, between the confusion of different lifetimes and outright lying to her family that yes, she was okay, she hadn't been hurt at all (hadn't died) and didn't want to return home. And that wasn't even taking schoolwork into consideration, on top of the greatest obstacle in her way: who was this young man? A casual acquaintance in this life, or the subject of mocking in another? What would constitute an appropriate apology, for something she'd done and yet couldn't be held responsible for, in fairness? Hence, the gift hamper; wine (with the aid of a friend who had graciously kept silent his questions) and chocolate and gourmet cookies. A teenage boy would surely not reject food, would he? Hyemi hoped so, as she checked the wrapping again. And. She had no excuse to put this off any longer, not for an apology already delayed. 'Here goes.' Ten minutes later found her outside the door of one Lu Han. At this time of the night, the dormitories were usually occupied, students having returned to their rooms at day's end. Hopefully the young man Hyemi sought would be in, and she could get this done and over with.
