he stood in the door way, leaning against it with an amused smile on his face. “ you really can’t find it ? ” funny, how people couldn’t see things that were right in front of them. “ it’s right here. ” jd walked over to the outlet on the other side of the room, where the charger was plugged in, but not attached to her laptop. “ you were so close. ”

blue tried not to crack a smile, but couldn’t hold it back. “you’re just so happy to make me feel like an idiot.” she walked over to it and plugged in her laptop. “you’re also kind of a lifesaver. you know that?”

a soft sigh would part the males lips as his arms crossed over his chest, his head falling back to one side as a single brow began to rise. “oh, is that right ? anyways — how does this make you feel though ? like i know you’re addressing the fact he contacted you here but you never once said anything about how you feel about it.” the male responded, taking a single step in blu’s direction. “does it make you happy ? concerned ? worried ? angry ? what ?”

blue looked down and shrugged. “i don’t know.” she looked back up at him. “i think i’m angry. where was my letter two years ago? but im worried because clearly something’s wrong enough that he has to contact me.” she shook her head. “he shouldn’t have to. he clearly had something in mind.” she paused. “i don’t think i’m happy. and that kind of is weird.”

“ why do i even hang out with you if you’re just gonna try to kill me, huh ?? ” she asked, teasing tone lacing her voice as her nose scrunched up slightly. “ you get me into too much trouble. ” truthfully, lainey didn’t even mind it all that much. it made things kinda interesting, which was a nice change from her normal day-to-day life. sometimes, anyway. “ uh–i do, yeah. not like on me right now, but i have one. well–two, actually. ”

“i always try to put thrill into your life.” she smiled. “trouble? no!” she laughed. “lets go get it then! unless you’re not up for some night skating.”

“remind me again why this is a good idea?” the girl asked as she was warming up the wax strips between her own hands, still a bit unsure of this whole idea. “did you at least try and shave some of it away? it’s gonna hurt so bad!” she spoke, before taking the strips apart, just holding it over the others leg. “ready?”

“the box said not to shave as it’d be worse.” blue let out a breath. “ready as i’ll ever be.” she closed her eyes. “just do it!”

hazel eyes widened like a deer in the headlights as lainey whipped her head around, holding her breath to be as silent as possible. but she didn’t hear anything. “ blue !! don’t say stuff like that–you’re gonna give me a heart attack, ” she spoke in a harsh whisper, eyes narrowing slightly. 

blue grinned. “it’s what i do best.” she winked, putting her cigarette out. “but we might be in trouble if we don’t dip. you know how campus cops are.” she looked around. “c’mon. do you have a board?” she asked the girl. as often as they hung out, she’d never actually seen lainey on a board, or on anything.

“i would never call her that to her face, obviously and my parents scold me all the time. but it’s catchy, right?” he laughs slightly. “that’s adorable. i think she’d make a great aunt. probably bakes everyone cakes all the time. or rather, gets her servants to do it.”

“she’d be the cool aunt that would drive me to starbucks and let me get a venti instead of a grande.” blue laughed. “she sounds quite lovely. i’m jealous you associated with her.”
